Bercklin, 83, Succumbs at Home in Richfield Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran church in the town of Richfield for August C. Bercklin, 83, who died at his home on Friday after a few days illness with pneumonia.

The Rev. Thil Schroeder officiated and interment was in the parish cemetery. August Bercklin came to the United States from Posen, Germany, where he was born June 3, 1854, settling at Braddock, where he worked for 29 years in the Carnegie Steel Works. He married and had two children. In March 1905 he returned to Germany and came back in the fall with his second wife, the former Emily Schoenfeld, and after a trip to California, purchased the land in Richfield township, where he built a home and had since lived.

Besides the two children in the east, he leaves his wife, one son, Alfred of Marshfield, and one daughter, Mrs. Frank Green on the home farm, and seven grandchildren, also one brother, Carl of Dorchester, and a sister in Germany.
