Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Born in Hartford, she had resided in East Hartford most of her life. She was a former communicant of St. Mary's Church, East Hartford. She is survived by a brother, Santo Alleano Sr.

of East Hartford; two sisters, Ann Flengo of East Hartford and Lucy Alleano in California; several nieces and nephews. Private funeral service and burial were held at the convenience of the family. There were no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The Newkirk Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside East Hartford, had 13 charge of arrangements.

ARANGO. Antonia (Mendes) Arango, 99, of 36 Pliney Hartford, the widow of Antonio Arango, died Sunday (March 20, 1988) at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. She was born in the Cape Verde Islands of Portugal and lived in Hartford 68 years. She was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Galvin) Mendes.

She leaves a son, John J. Arango of Hartford; three daughters, Mary V. Martins of Providence, R.I., Jennie Silva and Anna Andrade, both in Portugal; five grandchildren, Manuel J. Arango of Rockville, Reginald J. Arango of Bloomfield, Franklin J.

Arango of Hartford, William J. Arango Bloomfield and Lucille A. Abrill of Brockton, 14 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-greatgrandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday, 9:15 a.m., from the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington West Hartford, with a mass of Christian burial, 10 a.m., in St. Michael Church, Hartford.

Born in New Britain, May 20, 1906, she was the daughter of the late Christian and Augusta (Thume) Fox. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Rickard of Ontario, and Mrs. June Reynolds of Englewood, four sisters, Evelyn Peterson of North Canton, Margaret Morressey of Plainville, Wanda Kecek of Haverstraw, N.Y., and Agnes Cammeron of River Edge, N.J.; four grandchildren, and three greatgrandchildren. BLANCHARD. Gulldo P. Blanchard, 36, of 617 Stafford Bristol, died suddenly Monday (March 21, 1988) at Bristol Hospital. Mr. Blanchard was born Feb.

28, 1952, in Clair, New Brunswick, Canada. He was the son of Jeanne (Nadeau) Blanchard of Bristol and the late Philias Blanchard. He resided in Bristol for the last 19 years and was employed at Marlin Rockwell Division of TRW of Plainville for 14 years and for the last year he was employed at Upholstery By George. He was a communicant of St. Ann Church.

Besides his mother, he is survived by three brothers, Donald Blanchard of Southington, Jean Paul Blanchard of Plainville and Jeannot Blanchard of Chandler, two sisters, Rachel Deprey and Armande Pelletier, both of Bristol; his paternal grandmother, Margaret Blanchard of Caraquet, New Brunswick, Canada; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Gaston Blanchard, who died in 1978. James Curry, of Atlantic City, N.J., died March 20, 1988 at home. He was employed in the Atlantic City, N.J., public school system for 40 years. Among his survivors is a brother, Eugene Murray and his wife, J. Rita Murray, East Hartford; two nephews, Eugene Ill of Cheshire and Richard Murray of East Hartford, and a niece, Regina Murray of the U.S. Air Force in Colorado.

Among his survivors, he leaves a son, Joseph DeMember of N. Y. DEATH NOTICES DEATH NOTICES DEATH NOTICES JEFFERS. Clarence "'Pete" Jeffers, 90, of 943 Center Manchester, died Sunday (March 20) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born In Manchester, he had been a lifelong resident.

In 1985 the Manchester Junior Womens Club honored Mr. Jeffers as their "Man of the Year" and he was also a benefactor of the MACC Human Needs and Shelter. He was a World War I and World War I1 Marine Corps veteran and was a member of the Army and Navy Club, the VFW, the American Legion and the Marine Club, all of Manchester. He Is survived by son, Clarence Jeffers Jr. of East Haddam; a sister, Sgt.

Edith Jeffers in Maryland; and a granddaughter. Funeral service will be Friday, 11 a.m., at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center Manchester. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Buckland Cemetery.

Born Aug. 6, 1906, in Connecticut, daughter of the late Charles and Jemima (Sherrard) Henderson, she had lived in the Hartford area most of her lIfe. She was retired from the Travelers Insurance Hartford. Mrs. McCafferty Is survived by a stepson, James W.

McCafferty of Astoria, a nephew, Keith L. Henderson of a West Hartford; three sisters law, Mrs. Charles (Joan) Henderson, Miss Annie McCafferty and Mrs. R.J. Dickson, all of Hartford; and her brother-in-law, R.

Neil McCafferty of South Windsor. Funeral will be private with cremation at Cedar Hill Crematory, Hartford. "Poppy" Nash, 79, of 60 Hanover Meriden, husband of the late Loretta (Levinsky) Nash, died Tuesday (March 22) at Yale-New Haven Hospital following a brief Illness. He is survived by three daughters, Barbara Gondek of East Hartford, and Rosemary Cole and Patricia Cunningham, both of Canton; four grandchildren, Katherine Fortin, Cheryl Paul, Brian Paul and David Cunningham; and two greatgrandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral will be Thursday, 10:15 a.m., from the John J. Ferry Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main Meriden, followed by a mass of Christian burial, 11 a.m., in Holy Angels Church, Meriden.

NOYES. Norman Earl "Dutch" Noyes, 68, husband of Carmella M. (Santos) Noyes, of East Hartford, died Sunday (March 20) at Rockville General Hospital. Funeral service will be today, 10:15 a.m., from the Giuliano-Sagarino Funeral Home, 247 Washington Hartford, followed by a mass of Christian burial, 11 a.m., in St. Christopher's Church, East Hartford.

PAPA. Joseph A. Papa 79, of 231 Gridley Bristol, husband of Claire (Morin) Papa, died Tuesday (March 22) at Bristol Hospital. He was born June 27, 1908, in Brognaturo, province of Catanzaro, Italy, son of the late Frank and Rose (Mangiardi) Papa, and had lived in Bristol most of his life, moving from Italy. He was employed at New Departure-Hyatt Division for 40 years, retiring as an inspector 20 years ago.

Mr. Papa was a charter member and past president of the UAW-CIO Local 626 and was a member of the Sons of Italy and the Eagles Club. He was also a member of St. Anthony's Church. Besides his wife, Mr.

Papa is survived by two sons, Frank Papa of Cromwell and Joseph Papa Jr. of Westbrook; two daughters, Arline C. Papa of Waterbury and Shirley P. Stone of Bristol; a sister, Constance Mason of New Sharon, Maine; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Phyllis Ann Parkin, 45, of 111 Kinney Road, Hebron, died suddenly Monday (March 21) as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was the owner and operator of the Hebron Florist Shop. She was member of the Hebron Business and Professional Association and also a member of the Colchester Business Association. Mrs. Parkin leaves her husband, James H.

Parkin a son, James H. Parkin Jr. of Colchester; a daughter, Dawn M. of Hebron; and her parents, Philip and Ann (DeCicco) Hunt of Hebron. A memorial service will be Saturday, 1 p.m., at the First Congregational Church of Hebron, with the Rev.

Hebron Funeral Home, 27 Main Hebron, has charge of ROSSIGNOL. Albert Rossignol, 87, of St. Petersburg, husband of (Albert) Rossignol, died Caroline, (March 19) in Florida. Born in Frenchville, Maine, he had lived in Hartford most of his life, moving to Florida 21 years ago. He was employed by Pratt Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford, retiring 22 years ago.

Besides his wife, he leaves five sons, Bertrand Rossignol of Madawaska, Maine, Conrad Rossignol of Newington, Edward Rossignol and Leo Rossignol, both of Enfield, and Roger Rossignol of East Hartford; two daughters, Irma Martin of Canton and Freda Traceski North Windham; two brothers, Donate Rossignol of New Britain and Leon Rossignol of Van Buren, Maine; a sister, Flavie of Madawaska, Maine; grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. BLEVINS. William T. Blevins, 66, of 117 Colby Hartford, beloved husband of Doris (Bellsle) Blevins, died Monday (March 21) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford, he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a mailman for 17 years with the U.S.

Postal Service, retiring seven years ago. He was formerly employed by VeederRoot, Hartford, for many years. He was a musician, playing with many local bands and groups in the area. He was a member of the Musicians Union. He was a veteran of the U.S.

Army, serving during World War 11. He was a communicant of St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, Hartford. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Leona) Davey of Hartford a and Mrs.

Brian (Teresa) Cinea of East Glastonbury; two brothers, Charles Blevins of Austin, Texas, and George Blevins of Enfield; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Jason Davey. Funeral service will be Friday, 9:15 a.m., at the D'Esopo Wethersfield Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook with a mass of Christian burial, 10 a.m., in St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, Hartford. Salvatore P. Bordonaro, 65, of West Hartford, husband of the late Sophie (Valente) died Monday (March 21, 1988) at the home of his son in Portland.

He was born in Hartford, residing in West Hartford for 28 years. He was the owner of Temporary Labor Inc. of Hartford, and a member of St. Timothy's Church, West Hartford. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Karen Bordonaro of Portland, Francis and Leslie Bordonaro of Boston, his mother, Mrs.

Josephine Bordonaro of Old Saybrook; brother, Michael Bordonaro of Palm Bay, a sister, Mrs. Mary B. Foley of Old Saybrook; two grandchildren, Eric and Brittanie Bordonaro. Funeral service will be Thursday, 9:30 a.m., from the Taylor Modeen Funeral Home, 136 S. Main West Hartford, followed by a mass of Christian burial, 10 a.m., In St.

Oscar Casper, 63, of 8 Yellow Orange Circle, Middletown, died March 22 at Middlesex Memorial Hospital. He was husband of the late Jane (O'Neil) Casper and was born in Gloversville, N.Y., Jan. 7, 1925, son of the late Maxmillian and Wilhelmina (Neuhauser) Casper. He was employed as a regional bond manager for the Peerless Insurance Wethersfield, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I.

He was a member of the BPOE Lodge of Elks No. 771 of Middletown and was a graduate of Syracuse University, class of 1951. Mr. Casper is survived by four sons, Thomas of West Hartford, Michael of San Diego, John in the U.S. Air Force in Germany and Mark Casper of Middletown.

Funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the family plot in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown, N.Y. There are no calling hours. GLIDDEN. Alice (Jenney) Glidden, 76, of Cherry Brook Road, Canton Center, wife of Wright G. Glidden, died Tuesday (March 22, 1988) at John Dempsey Hospital. She was born June 29, New Bedford, and had lived In Unionville prior to moving to Canton more than 30 years ago. She was employed at Pratt Whitney Aircraft, Southington, for 15 years prior to her retirement in 1976.

She was a member of the North Canton Community Methodist Church and the Canton Senior Citizens. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Betty Jenney of East Hartford; a stepdaughter, Blanche Glidden Silver Wolcott; a sister, Hazel Wheeler of Unionville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Friday, 1p.m., at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton, with the Rev. William Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Southwest Cemetery, Collinsville.

Harmon Davles, 63, husband of Margaret (Chase) Davies, of New Britain, formerly of West Hartford, died Monday (March 21, 1988) at John Dempsey Hospital, Farmington.

Born In Brownsville, he had lived in West Hartford for many years prior to moving to New Britain three years ago. He was the associate executive of the YMCA of Metropolitan Hartford. He was a member of Covenant Congregational Church, West Hartford, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I1, having served in Gen. McArthur's headquarters.

Mr. Davies was an offfcer in many YMCA professional organizations and was a contributor to professional publications. Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Susan Davies of New Britain, Lynn Davies Porier of West Hartford and Carol Davies Hornish of New Britain; his mother, Mrs. Edna (Cox). Davies of Youngstown, Ohio; a brother, Ben D.

Davies in Maryland; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Berry of Columbus, Ohio; and a granddaughter, Jacquelyn Hornish. A memorial service will be Friday, 4:30 p.m., at the Covenant Congregational Church, corner of Westminster Drive and Sedwick Road, West Hartford, with the Rev. Thomas A. VanDerMeid officiating.

I Robert L. Freeman, 78, of 28 Holmes East Hartford, died Monday (March 21) at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. He was born in East Hartford was a lifelong resident. Before his retirement, he employed by the former Niles, Bemont Pond.

He is survived by his wife, Johanna (Reimer) Freeman; a daughter, Mrs. Janet E. Marshall of Middletown; and a brother, Donald Freeman of Talcottville. Funeral service will be Thursday, 2 p.m., at the Rose HIll Funeral Home, 580 Elm Rocky Hill. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Ruth Lillian Hatheway, 89, a lifelong resident of West Hartford, died Saturday (March 19, 1988) at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. She was the daughter of the late Edward F.

and Sarah (Gridley) Hatheway. Before her retirement, she worked for 36 years at the South End Bank in Hartford. She leaves her sister, Muriel H. Verizz; and her niece Virginia Panikoff, with whom she made her home; a nephew and four nieces. Private burial service were in West Hartford.

The Molloy Funeral Home assisted in arrangements. Contributions, in her memory, may be made to Animal Friends of Connecticut P.O. Box 17-306, West Hartford 06117. HERRICK. Robert Hansel Herrick, 79, of Hartford, died Tuesday (March 22, 1988) at Hartford Hospital.

He was born in New Britain and had been a lifelong resident of Hartford. He was an inventory supervisor for the Sechtman Hardware Store, Hartford, and had been an artist all his life. He is survived by a sister, Ruth Sokale of Farmington; nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Friday, 11 a.m., at the Rose Hill FUneral Home, 580 Elm Rocky Hill. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.

Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. HUSHAK. Wanda (Stack) Hushak, 87, of 139 Prospect Plantsville section of Southington, died March 21 at She was the widow of Walter S. Hushak. She was born in Southington, May 15, 1900, daughter of the late Walenty and Anna Stack, and had been a lifelong resident.

She was a communicant of St. Thomas Church, Southington, a member of the Calendar House of Southington and a former member of the Polish Ladies Falcons of Southington. Mrs. Hushak worked for many years as a volunteer at the Woodmere Convalescent Home, Plantsville. She is survived by two sons, Walter Hushak of Milldale section of Southington and Donald Hushak of Hamden; a sister, Katherine Budnik of New Britain; seven grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two sons, Chester and Eugene Hushak. Funeral service will be Thursday, 9:30 a.m., from the Plantsville Memorial Funeral Home, 975 S. Main Plantsville, followed by a mass of Christian burial, 10 a.m., in St. Thomas Church, Southington. Burial will be in the family plot in St.

Thomas Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today, 2-4 and p.m. ENGLISH. Elizabeth Ann English, 35, formerly of 317 S. Main Torrington, died Monday (March 21, 1988) at Hartford Hospital.

She was born April 4, 1952, in Winsted, daughter of Sandra (Clark) English and the late Gaeton J. English. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Winsted. Besides her mother, Miss English is survived by two brothers, Gaeton A.

English of Wayne, Maine, and MIchael English of Hollister, a sister, Barbara Marchione of MIll River, several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Thursday, 11:30 a.m., from the Maloney Funeral Home, 55 Walnut St.r Winsted, to St. Joseph's Church for a mass of Christian burial, 12 noon. Burial will be in St. Joseph's New Cemetery.

Calling hours are today, 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's School, Winsted. HARBERT. Michael Harbert, 92, of 83 Allen Terryville, husband of the late Agnes (Miller) Harbert, died Monday (March 21) at Bristol Hospital.

He is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Harbert, and two sisters, Martha Schultz and Ottillie Rode, all of Terryville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be Thursday, 1:30 p.m., from the Scott Funeral Home, 69 Main Terryville, to St. Paul's LUtheran Church, 2 p.m., with Dr. Holger Lundin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Terryville.

HARDING. Lyman P. Harding 82, of West Hartford, died Monday (March 21, 1988) at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Born in Kensington, he had lived in West Hartford for the last 41 years.

Prior to his retirement in 1984, he was employed by the Zane Welding Supplies Inc. of Hartford, He was a member of the West Hartford United Methodist Church. A 32nd degree Mason, he was a member, past master and secretary emeritus of Hartford Lodge No. 88 He was member of Pythogoras Chapter No. 17 RAM, Wolcott Council, Scottish Rite Bodies, the Washington Commandry and Sphinx Temple AANOMS.

He was also 8 past patron of Storer Chapter Order of Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife, Lynda (Edwards) Harding, to whom he was married to for 58 years. Mr. Harding also leaves two sons and daughters-in-law, Lyman and Pamela P. Harding Jr.

of Wethersfield and Bruce and Rosemary A. Harding of South Windsor; a daughter, Mrs. J. Curtis (Joan Roberts of Tolland; and four grandchildren, Jay and Jennifer Roberts of Tolland, Amanda and Sara Harding of South Windsor. Funeral service will be Thursday, 11 a.m., in the West Hartford United Methodist Church.

Edna (Heys) Richey, 86, of Irontree Court, Avon, wife of John B. Richey, died Tuesday (March 22, 1988) at Brightview Convalescent Home, Avon. She was born Feb. 24, 1902, in Arlington, N.J., and had lived in Bloomfield, N.J., prior to moving to Avon five years ago. She was a member of the Watchung Presbyterian Church and the OES, both of Bloomfleld, N.J.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Ednamae R. Michealis in California; two brothers, Leonard and Thomas Heys, both In New Jersey; four grandchildren, Luke Michells, Kenneth R. McCormick, Robert J. McCormick and Nancy J. Roberts.

He was predeceased by a son, William H. Selden Ill; and a sister, Ida W. Steel. He was employed as a corrections officer for the State of Connecticut for 10 years, retiring in 1971. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Diane Wadsworth; and two nieces, Karen and Sharon Wadsworth, all of Enfield.
