They spent the evening with the former's erandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David Hurd. Rural Social Events Orlinda Roegge and Joseph Panko Wed The marriage of Miss Orlinda Roegge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Fred Roegge, and Joseph Panko, son of Mrs. Agnes Par.ko, all of Junction City, took place at the parsonage of Rev. Henry Behrens at Junction City at 2 o'clock the afternoon of Thursday, January 11. "Miss Minnie Bernhagen and Julius Roegge, brother of the bride, were the attendants. A gown of Copenhagen blue flat crepe with matching hat was worn by the bride and her attendant wore a crepe ensemble in a darker shade of blue.

Immediate families of the couple were guests at a wedding supper at the bride's home at four-thirty o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. Panko will make their home on the D. G.

W. Reis farm in the town of Eau Pleine which the groom has rented. Mrs. Win McGowan is quite ill- Mrs. Gus Weylandt is earing for her.

Eleanor Horn and her father, Jim Horn, were Portage visitors Tues day. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart McFarlin were guests at the Clifford McFarlin home in New Chester Sunday. The Wisconsin Power and Light company began work Monday filling in between the road and dam.

A number of men and four teams are working on the project. Earl Carter and son, Jimmie, drove to Portage Sunday to visit Carter and Marguerite, the latter who is slowly, recovering from a very serious illness. Mrs. Mary Peck of Wisconsin Dells is seriously ill with pneumo nia. Her sister, Mrs.

J. A. Will ard, of White Creek is caring for her. Plalnfield Mr. and Mrs.

Orville Wood of Montana were guests of friends here Sunday. William Timm of Manawa, who has been visiting his brother, Fred, in Oasis, spent a few days with R. F. Weymouth. Mr.

Lunch will be served by Mrs. Frank Ashauer, Mrs. Joseph Ashbeck, Mrs. Joseph Bincen and Mrs. Herman Brey, who will be Xeeedah Sports Club The Necedah Sports club sponsor ed a schafskopf card party on Thursday evening, which was well attended.

Six tables were in use, the holders of low scores for the eve ning treating the winneers to lunch and Royal Neighbors The Royal Neighbors of Snow Flake camp, Milladore, held their regular meeting at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Mancl's hall. In stallation of officers was held with Miss Loretta Farrell as installing officer and Mrs. Lydia Bymers as ceremonial marshal. After the meet ing a delicious lunch was served by Mrs. Glen Fry, Mrs.

L. Bymers, Mrs. George Fait and Mrs. Harold Kupsch. The next meeting will be held January 25 at 2 p.

Necedah 500 Club The North Side Ladies' 500 club of Necedah met at the home of Mrs- Edward Spencer Thursday evening. Several new members joined the club at this time, and an enjoyable evening was had by Seneca Homemakers The Seneca Corners Homemakers will meet Thursday, January 18, at 2 p. m. with Mrs. Herbert Lechner Quilting and quilt making will be the topic.

Saratoga Ladies Aid The Saratoga Ladies' Aid society will meet Thursday, January 18, with Mrs. Per Johnson, instead of with Mrs. Peter Knuteson, as prev iously announced. Necedah Larkin Club The Larkin Club of Necedah met Tuesday eveening with Mrs. J.

Jen kins, all members being present. The evening was spent in playing bridge and 500, at the conclusion of which a luncheon was served. h. Coloma Ladies' Aid The Lutheran Ladies' Aid society of Coloma met with Mrs. Emil Glas- home of her son, Henry, in Iron wood.

Mrs. Hanson is an old resi' dent of this community. The re mains will be brought to Necedah for burial. Gust Baumgart and John Pitchen are employed at Nekoosa. Mrs.

S. Jones Wednesday eve ning. Mr. and Mrs. James Roberts of Lincoln were business visitors Friendship Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zika spent the holiday at Chicago with rela tives and friends. The Modern Woodmen and Royal Neighbors of Friendship will hold a loint installation at the Wood man hall Saturday evening. Only members and their families are in vited.

James Jefferson, the sixteen year old son of Bert Jefferson, is very ill with infection of his leg. Mr. and Mrs. A. D.

Juller and Tressa Lewis went to Wisconsin Rapids Thursday to visit Gertrude Lewis, who ts a patient at the Kiv- erview hospital. Misses Iris Fuller, Buelah Ben nett and Shirley Webster returned to their school duties at Stevens Point Sunday after a two weeks' vaca tion. Mr. and Mrs. E.

Jenson and chil dren of New Lisbon were guests at the Earl Koch home Sunday. Willard Fuller spent Friday and Saturday at the Matt Lewis home in Adams. Mr. and Mrs. Geo.

Polivka were in Marshfield Friday on business. Jim Horn returned to his school duties at the Wisconsin university at Madison Sunday after spending his vacation at home. Thea Poppe, who spent the week ke Saturday afternoon. Election of officers was the special business of the day. h.

T. A. as a part of the winter series of benefit card parties, this being the third in the succession. High honors at the games were won by the following: Miss Ruth Johnson and Mrs.

William Otten at smear; Ben Hanncman and Mrs. William Liebe at five hundred; Ed Brahm-stead and Mrs. Etta Giese at schafskopf Miss Myrtle Snyder and Arnold Smith at fifty and W. Sei-del and Mrs. Fred Bossert at bridge.

Refreshments were served by Mrs. Archie Van Gorder, Mrs Archie Snyder and Mrs. Burl Smith, American Legion Auxiliary- Members of the local chapter of the American War Mothers will be guests of the American Legion Auxiliary at its regular meeting to take place at the Legion hall on Wednes day evening at 7:45 o'clock. After the business meeting a program will be presented under the direction of Mrs. Glenn Bennett.

Cards will feat ure the later social time although the games 'will not be a part of the series of card contests. A door prize is to be awarded. Mrs. Henry Neu-felt is chairman of the refreshment committee. Entertain Mr.

and Mrs. Reinhard Knuth entertained 24 relatives at dinner at their home last evening in celebration of the birthday anniversary of their son, Charles. Following the vening repast cards were enjoyed ith favors going to Mrs. Walter Whitrock and Hans Vollert of Alt- dorf at schafskopf, and to Mrs. Carl Vollert and Webster Cook of Nekoosa, at rummy.

The guests presented Charles and Mrs. Knuth, whose birthday anniversary will oc cur this week, with many fine tok ens of remembrance. Surprise Party Mrs. Fred Brunk was tendered a pleasant surprise on Friday after noon at her home when a number of friends came to honor her birthday anniversary. For entertainment dur ing the afternoon five hundred and fifty were in play at four tables.

High score favors were won by Mrs. William Jahnke and Mrs. Jack Da- gen at five hundred and Mrs. Alex Bandelin and Mrs. Anthony Korte at fifty.

C. Schulz, which took place on Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Molepske and daughter, Caroline, of Milwaukee, left Saturday evening for their home after a visit at the Joe Molepske home, Neal Atwood, who is employed at Wausau, arrived home Friday evening for a week-end visit with his parents, Mr.

and Mrs. Will Derichs and Mrs. Charles Laramie spent a day last week at Marshfield visiting with Mrs. Laramie's brother, Leonard Flasch, who Is a patient at the St. Joseph's hospital.

Master Gerald Matthews, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Matthews, who has been ill since Christmas with an ear infection, is now improving. Mrs. Robert Morey has been con fined to her home the past week by illness.
