Hon. John T. Connell, the inde-fatiguable secretary of the Mississippi ScTlool Teachers' Association, expressed himself as favoring the appointment, of a Press Committee for the Association, to be followed with sub-committees to cover the several departments enumerated in the annual programme. This idea is indorsed by Vice-President Ellis and should be followed by a resolution creating the General Press Committee to cover the General Association and a committee for each department. The work of the Press Committee should be the same as assigned to similar committees in other organizations.

It is the aim and desire of every newspaper to publish accurate reports, but when the reporters are required to handle a large number of strange names and cover extended meetings it is a difficult matter to catch the names, residences and titles of the speakers, and condense the report of the full meeting in such manner as to secure the best matter for publication.

The Press Committee would simplify all this. All of this work would be facilitated if the officers and speakers were to prepare their address and reports in duplicate and supply the newspapers with advance ccpies, a practice which obtains in the larger cities of the country and in all Federal Departments in Washington. No report would be published until the release is given to the newspaper. upon by pr milnent members of the brotherhood.
