Elected At Wethersfield High Class Officers By THEODORE SIMON The students of Wethersfield High School recently elected their class officers. The elections were conducted by secret ballot. Seniors elected were president, Robert W. DiCicco; vice president, Richard A. Heimgartner: secretary, Elaine Goracy; and treasurer, Judith D.

Lindner. Juniors elected were Stephen L. Potter, president; Michael F. DeMeo, vice president; Janet L. Crosen, secretary; and Susan Lee Bagley, treasurer.

Sophomores elected were Michael J. D'Aiessio, president; Guy W. Johnson, vice president; Ellen M. Braber, secretary; and Elaine A. Steinmiller, treasurer.

Robert W. DiCicco has become involved in several extracurricular organizations including: varsity football, the traffic squad, graduation usher. Youth Government Day, the Silver Key, a junior prom committee, and the students council. As a student council number, Mr. DiCicco has served on G.A.A.

and the student council. She is a member of the Swedish Dance Group and is a volunteer worker at the Hartford Hospital. Elaine Steinmiller has participated in the G.A.A'. and the Latin II Club. The National Honor Society of Wethersfield High School recently held a meeting; During the meeting.

Miss Elva Cheney, the club's faculty adviser, announced that Robert Santamaria and Mrs. Ruth Wittigschlager have been appointed as new faculty advisers. The committee for the literary magazine, scheduled to be compiled by the Society this year, was selected. Appointed were Sarah Kenyon and Cynthia Godfrey (co-chairwomen). Jane Kelleher, Douglas Holmes, Eric Henry, Joanne Starace.

James Trout-man, and Lee Friedman. Carol DeJohn was named as chairwoman of the art committee. Plans for the coming National Honor Society induction were also discussed. Wendy Hagstrom DAR Winner at Conard High By ANN L. G1TTLEMAN Wendy Hagstrom is the recipient of the 5966 Daughters of the American Revolution Citizenship Award at Conard High School.

In the opinion of the Senior Class and the faculty, Wendy best exemplifies dependability, service, leadership, and interest in family, school, and the community. Miss Hagstrom has been a cheerleader since her sophomore year and is presently serving as co-captain of the squad. In her junior year, she was honored for outstanding academic achievement at the Annual Distinguished Service Banquet. She also received the Connecticut Association of Women Deans and Counselors Award, given to a junior girl displaying evidence of conscientiousness, poise, and unselfish service-. In June she was selected as an honor usher at the graduation of the Class of 1966.

Wendy has also been involved witn Student Government activities and has been both homeroom chairman and co chairman. This year Wendy is secretary of the National 'Hone Society and a member of the sports staff of the 1967 Seconian Class-book. Wendy is now eligible to compete for the DAR Award on the state level. Among the requirements for this contest is a ques; tionnaire dealing with patriotism and good citizenship. Northwestern Students Plan One Act Play By PETER HAYWARD Northwestern Regional No.

7s acting society, the Harlequins, are in the process of rehearsing a one-act play called "Cracked Ice." Dennis Borque is filling in as the Harlequins' director this year. The cast includes: James Smith, Peter Baurer, Barney Munroe. Elmer Backlash, Sandra Snyder, Karen Frederick-son and Edward McManus. Mr. Borque is prepared for anv unforeseen misfortunes.

John Eddy, Peter Hale, Jeanie DeLarm. and Debbie Coons are understudies. George Panco will manage the backstage work of the play. "Cracked Ice" will be presented to all the students sometime in the future. Shortly following the opening of school, the Junior and Senior Classes elected their leaders.

The results of the elections were as follows: Senior Class president, Dennis Lemieux; vice president, Debbie Koether; treasurer. Bob Maltby: and Sandra Gahagan was unchallenged in her bid for class secretary. In the Junior Class election, (16 candidates ran for four offices) the results were as follows: Junior Class president, Sandy Hill; vice president, Vicky Vickers; treasurer, Jeff LePine; and secretary, Linda Chirico. Santa Claus Ball Held at Portland High Stephen L. Potter has participated in the All-State Band, the Hartt Youth Band, the football and track teams, and the student council.

Michael F. DeMeo has been a member of the baseball and junior varsity basketball squads. He has also belongs to the Leaders' Corps and the student councig. Janet L. Crosen, has participated in the Future Teachers' Clubj the Girls' Athletic Association, the Latin II Club, Sodalitas Latina (the Latin III and IV Club), and the ski club.

Susan Lee Bagley has become involved in chorus, the G.A.A., Future-Teachers'- Club, the Latin II Club, Sodalitas Latina, the Spring Production, the Girls' Leaders' Corps and. the student council. Michael J. D'Allessio belongs to the student council and the varsity soccer team. Guy W.

Johnson is a member of the gymanstic club, and the J.V. soccer team. Ellen Graber, belongs to the adviser is Mrs. Pauline Kabara. The members of the club voted to give a party at Gilder-sleeve School for the special education classes in Portland.

The committee for refreshments included Joan Benoit, Linda Morse, Eha Pollman, Chris Baines, Debbie and Karen Peterson, chairman. The committee to plan a gift for the children was Reesa Paley and Laurie Rowe. As in previous years, FTA members will visit other schools to observe the classes and see teachers at wcrk. Class observing will be done three or four times this year and members will go to the other schools during their study periods. Officers of the National Honor Society for this year are John Anderson, president qnd Robin Dickerson, secretary.

Margaret Rode and Joan Wendling are in charge of the scrapbook kept by the society. Miss Dolores Bergeron is the faculty adviser. A new lunoh system is installed at Portland High School over the Thanksgiving vacation. Students are now oifered a the executive committee for one year. Richard A.

Heimgartner has participated in many sports including football, basketball, and baseball. Mr. Heimgartner has also served on the traffic squad and the student council. Elaine Goracy was queen of last year's Junior Prom. She has also been active in the following: cheerleading, student council, last year's Spring Production, choir, and Youth Government Day.

Miss Goracy was secretary of the Class of 1967 during all three years that it has had officers. Judith D. Lindner has shown her interest in music by belonging to such groups as the Deb-onaires, the Eaglettes, the chorus, and the choir. Miss Lindner is a co captain of the cheerleaders, and a member of the student council, Girls' Athletic Association. Leaders Corps, and the traffic squad.

She has participated in tiie Spring Production committees for the past two years. The majorettes at Portland High are learning new routines for the comin? year. This year there is one head, 10 regulars, and five substitutes. Fifteen of the girls will perform at home basketball games with the five substitutes alternating. The 11 regular girls will perform at ail other functions, including band concerts and parades.

The majorettes this year are Karen Olson, head: Molly Kingsbury, Janet Carta. Joanne Faz-zino and Nancy Johnson, all seniors: Kathy Smith, Mary Sullivan. Jeanne Primmer, Jackie Crouch, and Charlene Serra, all juniors: and Xaren Richter, sophomore. Substitutes are Pat Siena junior; Sandy Lastrina sophomore: and Patty New-hart, Debbie Nichols and Sue Ziemba all freshmen. Instructor and adviser to the majorettes is Mrs.

Marie LeRoy Kane. The Future Teachers of America Club met on Nov. 22. This year's officers are president, Lois Carlson; vice president, Karen Peterson: secretary, Lois Chappell: and treas-. urer, Paula Kirsche.

Faculty choice of lunches in a la carte style. A standard choice with an additional varied selection is offered. Durham High Students Hold Junior Prom By ELAINE WEST The Junior Class of, Durham High School recently held the annual Junior Prom at Korn School. The theme. ''Polynesian Dream," was decided upon and a tropical setting was accented by palm trees and ''Polyne-sian" waitresses.

Prior to the actual dance, couples dined at a Meriden restaurant. A post-prom party followed the event at the home of Linda Kwolek. Chairmen of the various committees were as follows: co-chairmen. Karen Chapman and Dennis Beaulieu; decorations, Carol Kelley; refreshments, Marilyn Church; and publicity, Sam Crum. By KAREN OLSON The annual Santa Claus Ball was held recently at Portland High School.

This semi-formal dance is sponsored by the Club. The gymnasium was transformed into a ski lodge in accordance with the theme "Apres Ski." A huge Fireplace was the center of ihv decorations. In charge of the decorations was Linda Dower, who is also social chairman for the Girl's Club Chairmen of the various committees were walls. 8. Taking part in Hs annual Christmas event ware the beginner's band, the junior band, and the senior high scnool band, all under the direction of Eric A. Os-terling. The senior high school chorus also sang several selections. The chorus is directed by Miss Marie Gustafson.
