Stevenson 'Mikadtr Bob Stevenson has taken over the. directorial of Gilbert Sullivan" Theater's production of "The Mikado," scheduled for a late January presentation. Stevenson, 'with his wife, Helen, is now living in Tucson, after a long career in the professional theater. In fact, he' comes from a theater family. His father was the noted character actor, Houseley Stevenson.

His brother Onslow is equally well-known as an actor. Another brother, Houseley is with the Bing Crosby Enterprises. Starting his career at the Pasadena Playhouse, where he was awarded a teaching fellowship, Stevenson taught dramatics and was assistant director of the acting group under Gilmore Brown. During the second-World War he traveled throughout the South Pacific area with the USO, directing and acting in many of its productions. Then he returned to Pasadena as a member of Brown's staff of directors, remaining there five years.

Next he served with the Laguna Beach Playhouse as assistant director and actor, appearing in such productions as "Waltz of the Toreadors," "Time of Your Life" and "Othello." Tennessee Williams spotted Stevenson at Laguna and asked him to go to New York to audition for the part of Tom in "The Glass Menagerie," but that was sidetracked when producer Eddie Bowling decided he wanted the role for himself. So Stevenson turned to sunv mer stock in Stamford, where he appeared with Diana Barryniore in "Her Cardboard Lover," a i Brooks in "You Can't Take It With You" and Ilka Chase in "Susan and Godi" Returning to Broadway, he understudied Kirk Douglas and Wendell Corey in "The Wind Is Ninety," eventually replacing Douglas. Then followed the lead opposite Anne Jackson in "Signature." Albums MAGIC DE ARSENIO RODRIGUEZ. Arsenio Rodriguez's music is undoubtedly magical, but also a bit monotonous gave for the indoctrinated Afro-Cuban enthusiasts. "Los Teenagers Balian Changui" is attractively melodic, but it is the exception among a range of pieces mostly rhythmic.
