Also saluting the couple were friends from the Van Nuys Church of the Nazarene, where they have been members for 33 yeara. Guests also included members of Reseda Church of the Nazarene. Knudsen, Francis M. Smith and Earl J. Thee Jr. Eight hundred volunteers from the Braille Institute have put in more than 90,000 hours. They serve as drivers, teachers aides, Braille transcribers, readers, recorders, receptionists and tour guides.

They also visit homes of the blind who need letters read to them and marketing done. The thrift shop, 3904 XV. Sixth is staffed by volunteers. Proceeds from the shop go to the institute. ORT Slates Fund-Raiser For the second consecutive year Valley Vista chapter of Women's American ORT will sponsor an auction luncheon to raise funds for its international training program.
