She was born November 2, 1925 in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Edwin and Hazel Grandt Lips, and wife of the late Carl Gunnar Johnson. She is survived by her sons Donald S. Johnson and Kerry D. After 5 years in the Navy he graduated from UIC in 1974 with a B.A. He loved his family, especially the grandchildren, and took every opportunity to build or restore old toys for them. He is survived by Hilda, his loving wife of 39 years; his daughter Katja Meyer and son-in-law Burt Thomas; his grandchildren Farris and Mathilda Thomas Meyer; and his sister Andrea Bauza.

Age 91 years. Born yr- jM in Joliet, IL, to William and Ellen Keck, of Swedish and Austrian descent, he founded sever al successful businesses, served his country, and gave generously to the community. Jack lived in Joliet for 85 years before moving to Charter House, next to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. He met his wife Evon while attending Joliet Township High School (now Joliet Central). Married for just three months.

Jack enlisted in the Navy Seabees and served his country for three years without leave as an Electrician First Class in the South Pacific during WWII. Jack's love, next to his family, was the motor business. He got an early start working with his family at William Keck and Sons Electric Company, and he went on to co-found Keck Electric and Joliet Equipment buying and selling motors all over the world. At 65, instead of retiring, he bought the Wisconsin Steel Mill, dismantled it, and brought the equipment to Joliet to be cleaned and sold. With his brother, Norman Keck, he purchased Michigan Beach and turned it into the Joliet Beach Club, drawing local families for 31 summers.

Through the Evon D. and Jack H. Keck Foundation, he's donated to Silver Cross Hospital, the Mayo Clinic, and many other charitable and community organizations. Jack is survived by his grandson Sean (Donna) Keck and three great-grandchildren Cynthia, Isabelle, and Gauge; granddaughter Daphne (Michael) Laughridge; brother William (Joan) Keck; numerous nieces and nephews; and companion Marlene Dennison. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Evon; beloved children Cynthia Keck Ellis and Richard Lee Keck; twin sister Betty Viscum; and siblings Carl Keck, Norman Allan Keck, Vivian Keck, and Evelyn Owen.

He enjoyed playing the concertina, dancing and cruisng the world with Claudia.

Sigh Guestbook at chicagotribuhe.comobituaries IPPOLITI, PAMELA RICHARDSON Pamela Richardson Ippoliti of Evanston, beloved wife of the late John An-gelo Ippoliti, passed away peacefully at Northwestern Memorial Hospital on August 12, 2013 after a short illness. Born in Chicago on February 14, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Karl S. and the late Jean L. Richardson. Pamela graduated from St.

Mary's School for Girls in Wisconsin, received her B.A. degree from Lawrence University, in Appleton, Wisconsin, and a Master's in French from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. In 1972, following their wedding, Pamela and John spent five years in France while John finished writing his doctorate and Pamela taught English to French students. Returning to the United States and settling in Evanston, Pamela was employed by the March of Dimes in Chicago and then by the School of Public Health at the University of Illinois in Chicago. She retired in 2009 and has spent her retirement volunteering at St.

Luke's Episcopal Church in Evanston, where she served as Junior Warden and then became Senior Warden; the Moveable Feast soup kitchen of St. Luke's; Hilda's Place, an Evanston homeless shelter; and the Burmese Refugee Outreach Program, sponsored by St. Paul's Episcopal Church by the Lake in Chicago, tutoring foreign students in English and English Literature. In addition to her husband and parents, Pamela was preceded in death by her brother, Jason M. Richardson of New York.

She is survived by her extended family with whom she was very close. Her step-mother, Mary L. Richardson, stepsister, Nancy R. (Timothy) Hellyer, stepbrother, Michael O'Donnell, sisters-in-law Jill Ippoliti, and Jane I. Arthur; nephews, Kristofer (Michelle) Arthur and Robert O'Donnell; nieces, Jennifer Hellyer, Allyson Hellyer, Elizabeth O'Donnell, Emily (Matthew) Mullen, and Joanna Blanck; grandnephew John Arthur and two grandnieces, Ava Arthur and Maisy Pippin.

She is also survived by her cousins, Melanie R. (Michael) Dundy of Oregon, William F. (Karen) Richardson of Barrington Hills, Illinois, and David Kelliher of Oregon. In addition to her extended family, Pamela was blessed with many remarkable friends with whom she enjoyed hours-to-years of friendship and comradery. Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m.

on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 939 Hinman Ave in Evanston. Reception at the Evanston Hilton Garden Inn will follow. Pamela was cremated and will be interred in the Richardson Family Plot at the Ottawa Avenue Cemetery, Ottawa, Illinois, at a later date. He was an officer in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1968, and later a personnel officer at the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, which became the Office of Thrift Supervision. At the end of his federal career he worked for the Comptroller of the Currency.

Rob was long active in the Third Unitarian Church in Chicago's Austin neighborhood. He had served as TUC board co-chair, and in recent years volunteered as a front door greeter and watchman. Rob put his driving skills to work operating a "TUC Taxi" service. He ferried scores of church members to Chicago area airports and train stations, often with complimentary goodies for the upcoming trip. Rob was known to his friends as a generous and gentle soul.

She gave generously to many charities, volunteered at the Mercy Home, and spent much of her free time assisting and caring for aging relatives and friends.

She had a great love of travel and visited every continent except Antarctica. In her retirement, she shared her love of travel with many of her great-nieces and great-nephews.
