Presentation ol the Ehlert Trophy was made to Laska by Ed Ehlert at an. awards dessert sponsored jointly by tha Van Nuys High.

School Boosters Club and ths Van Nuys Optimist Club and held in the student cafeteria. "Chip" Ehlert was gradn- ated in 1966 from Van 2Vnys High School, where was a member of the varsity basketball team. During his first year of college, tie was involved in a traffic accident and later succumbed to injuries. As a memorial to "Chip," his father, Ed, has presented the school with a perpetual trophy to be inscribed each year with the name of the selected recipient. Carnation Five Defeats IDS All-Stars, 67-41 Carnation maintained Its undefeated record In Valley Major Basketball Leagua play by defeating the LDS AU- Stapa, 67-41.
