Bear Feasts On Caviar, Crab VAIL, Colo. (AP) Forget roots and berries. In this pricey resort town, even the bears snack on caviar and crab. In the last several weeks, black bears preparing for winter have been reported rummaging through garbage in search of easy meals. One stumbled on the garbage of Laura Luby, a waitress at the Vail golf course.

She had taken home a doggie-bag of crab legs and caviar. She said she and her husband didn't care for the caviar and couldn't finish the crab, so most of the feast ended up in the trash. They woke up that night to sounds outside, and when Luby's husband investigated he came face to face with a black bear. The bear peered through a glass door at the Lubys and their terrified cat. It then ambled away, leaving a trail of crab legs.
