Notice is. hereby given that the 20th day of August, 1974, at the hour. of 10:30 a.m. is the time when in the Council Chambers of this City Council in the City Hall of said City is the place where a hearing shall be held by the City Council to consider the change in the additional levy established by Ordinance No. C-5106.

Any operator of a business within the parking and business improvement area established by the adoption of Ordinance No. C-5106 or any other interested person having any objection to the establishment of said additional levy on the basis of gross receipts may file a written protest with the City Clerk of said City not later than the hour so fixed for hearing. Such protests shall include the amount of business license tax currently paid by that business or individual. Sec. 4.

That the City Clerk shall cause this resolution to be published once in the Independent Press-Telegram, a newspaper of general circulation in said City, and shall cause a complete copy of this resolution to be mailed, postage prepaid, to each business in the parking and business improvement area established by Ordinance No. C-5106, at his business address. Such publication and mailing shall be completed at least ten (10) days' prior to the time of the hearing. Sec. 5.

The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution by the City Council of the City of Long Beach and cause the same to be posted in three conspicuous places in the City of Long Beach and it shall thereupon take effect. Section 4 of Ordinance No. C-5106 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec.

4. That beginning with the day of 1974, an additional annual business license tax shall be imposed upon all persons occupying business premises. in the parking and business improvement area. Said additional annual license tax shall be at the imposed rates hereinafter specified in this Section. The businesses are grouped together by classifications designated 'A' through 'G'.

The additional annual license tax for each business classification shall be based upon the Benefit Zone in which said business is located. The following businesses in Classification located in Benefit Zone No. 1. shall annually pay an additional one-fourth of the usual annual business license tax paid to the City of Long Beach by such businesses: CLASSIFICATION 'A' BUSINESSES COIN OPERATED T.V. If the applicant overestimates the taxable gross receipts of said business so that the additional business license tax is overpaid, then the applicant may apply the overpayment on the amount due as the additional license tax for the coming year. A newly established business as used business in this Section shall mean a business that has not been operated previously by the business licensee or any predecessor in interest to the business licensee.
