Warreu, two of the committee appointed at the recent meeting of the National Cattle and Horse-growers association, held at St. Louis, hare prepared their bill for a national cattle trail, and it will probably be introduced next waek. It will be accompanied by a memorial setting forth the importance of the measure. The bill provides for the appointment by the secretary of the interior of three commissioners to lay out and establish a public highway, known as a quarantined national livestock traii, for driving cattle, horses, sheep, hogs or other live stock to market from one location to another; and further, to establish, at convenient points on Bald trail, suitable quarantined grazing 1 grounds where live stock may be held and grazed for short periods during-the drive. The trail is to begin on Red river as near the 100th degree of longitude as practicable; thence running In a northerly direction through the Indian Territory, following, as near as practicable, the Kort Griffin nnd Dodge City trail to a point iu Ford county, on the southern boundary of Kansas; thence over the unap- propriated public domain of the United Stated, through tbe counties of Ford, Hodgoman, Lane, Scott, St.

John, Thomas, Sherman and Cheyenne, in Kansas; then in a general northerly direction through Nebraska, Dakota, Wyoming and Montana, or any one or more of them, to the northern boundary of the United States. The trail is not to exceed six miles in width, and the grazing grounds not to exceed twelves miles square. The public lands over which it is to be established are to be withdrawn from sale and reserved for the trail ten years. Ten thousand dollars are to be appropriated to carry out the provisions of the bill. Colonel TJpaon has referred the bill to the Texas congressional delegation, which will aaett to-morrow to consider it.

In the vicinity of Langley, the trembling of the earth was plainly felt. At Warreutun the motion was from east to west, accompanied by a dull heavy sound and shcking of windows violently. A Shock of Earthquake.

LACOKTA, N. January shore of earthquake was felt in Laconia Friday night. It pissed from north to south, accompanied by rumbling sounds. Carthqnake Bhochn Felt In Maryland. BALTIMORE, January special from Frederick, says: In the southern section of Frederick county last night, ten minubss I after 9, a shock was felt, supposed to bo an earthquake, which caused great consternation among the people.

At Bucfceyestown, Limekiln Switch, Hicksville, Adamstown, Greenfield Mills and other points, the shock was so severe that people ran out of their housed in terrible alarm. F1KE KB CORD. The Bristol Ttumel Fire. COLUMBUS, January special states that it is not positively known who fired the tunnel at Bristol, on the Baltimore aad Ohio railroad, yet it is supposed to have been done by strikers. Tbe theory is that an attempt was made to destroy the tunnel to prevent the shipment of coal from tbe syndicate mines.

The destruction of the tunnel would cufc off Sbawnee, Dickerson and McCuneville, wtere work has been. steady all summer and to the present time. Fifty feet more of the tunnel caved in to-day and the firemen were withdrawn, as they can do no good. It is thought it will have to burn out Two more boxes of guns sent from Pittsburgh arrived at Newark to-day directed to James O'DonneU, who is under arrest in that place for aiding and abetting the strikers in the destruction of property and attempts against life. A Blaze at Plymouth, Man.

PLYMOUTH, January 8 --A fire which started in the pickery-room of tho works of the Plymouth Cordage company this afternoon, proved to be the most disastrous that ever 'occurred in. to The fire destroyed the pickery-rcom building and two large manufactories filled with machinery and combustible material. A third factory was faved by the utmost exertions of the firemen. The operatives barely had time to savtj thair livfp. Freeman Joyce, a cripple, in tbo pick- was rescued badly burned and will probably die.

James CVITeal waa badly burned about.the hands and arms, and Charles Peterson was severely burned on the hands and face. The two large buildings burned were brick, five stories high, aad about 150x80 feet. There was a lerge quantity of. imported hemp and manufactured stock on hand. The loss to the company is about and was insured for in mutual companies of Boston, Boma 2GO hands are deprived of employment.

The parties whose honesty is assailed have organized agolast further custom with any merchant who may be proved to have furnished the objectionable data. William Brown, a barber, and Charles W. Taylor are under arrest. James and Alfred Henderson, tho principal assailants in tho affair, so far have eluded arrest. Tbe B.rifitol tunnel, sear Gbawnfte, on the Baltimore nud Ohio railroad, which was burned by strikers early yesterday morning, can not bo used for tho passage of trains. The tunnel, -which is about 1000 feet long, has solid cf coal on either side, wbica is atill burning. Three or four hundred feet of cho tunnel have caved in. -The incendiaries have tot been apprehended, as they did their work in difgnise and con not be identified. Toe Hocking Valley Railroad company will this afternoon put into effect an order prohibiting ibe congregation of idle men about their depots and frefght yards.

Crooked Cashier Gone to Canada, LEXINGTON, January G. Scrag- ham, teller and assistant cashier of tbo Lexington City National bank, bus defaulted for about and fled to Canada. Ho is about thirty years old, and has a wife and two children, whom he left here. He was also a member of the Main Street Christian church. Lyncbfera Arrested Tor Murder. OTTUMWA, Ia, January sheriff of this county, under a warrant Issued by W.

Orr, of Ibis city, lost night proceeded to Blakesbnrg and arrested Daniel Anderm, William Anderson, Jesse Fisher, George Fisher and Flojd Chichester, and brought tbem to this city to-day. They are charged with the murder of Pleasant Anderson, hnug by lynnh- ers on she night of the 29th ultimo. The men arrested are said to be those who seized Plea- rant Anderson at his fatber-m-law's and took him to a school-house, where a mock trial was had. Defendants waived examination, aad gfcva bail in the sum of each. The two Andersons arrested are cousins of tao Anderson who was hung.
