A photographer who moved from excellence in television news to equal accomplishments in private video productions, he naturally filtered out the flaws in people and focused on the strengths. "He always said that he had looked at the world through a camera lens with one eye closed his whole life, and it made him see people differently," said his wife, Rae. "And he saw them as good and whole and beautiful." James L. Unzicker, 66, of Sioux Falls and Mitchell, died Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, in Avera McKennan Hospital of complications following surgery.
