Ziffren's Kin Denies White-Slave Count PEORIA, Ill. (UPI)- Ziffren, Davenport, Iowa, businessman and brother of Califor-, (nia's Democratic national committeeman, has pleaded inno(cent to a three-count federal indictment charging white slavery. U.S. District judge at Monday released Ziffren on $2,500 bond with 30 days to file motions against the indictment. Ziffren, who pictures himself as the Giveaway King on Davenport television programs, was charged with transporting three girls across state lines for immoral purposes.

In Los Angeles, Ziffren's brother, Democratic National Committeeman Paul Ziffren, declined to comment on the charges. DURING THE RECENT campaign for governor of California, Sen. William Knowland, Republican candidate, charged that Paul Ziffren was once linked with a Chicago gangland financial figure. Russ Envoy Zarubin Dies in Moscow MOSCOW UP) Georgi Zarubin, former ambassador to Washington and the Soviet envoy to Canada when a Soviet spy ring was revealed there, is dead at 58. (UPI)- Authorities awaited a legal i rulling today to decide if a hunter can be prosecuted for shooting a become legsed deer which had of a farm family near here. The deer, nicknamed Spike by the Glen Hahn family, was killed Nov. 8 on the opening day of the deer season as it darted from members of the family who were petting it on the Hahn farm. The 3-year-old deer's left front leg was amputated by a veterinarian after it was mangled by a mowing machine. It became a pet of the Hahns their two children, aged 11 and 13.

AT FIRST the Hahns kept Spike on the farm, but turned her loose later. But she often returned to be fondled and fed sugar. Mrs. Hahn and her children Nancy and Paul, were gathered; around Spike the day the deer season opened. They said two hunters came over to ask if they could shoot Spike.
