Casey Gartamaker, Sioux Falls, Thomas Simonsen YANKTON Thomas C. Simonsen, 60, died Thursday, April 8, 1993, in his home. Mr. Simonsen was born Aug. 8, 1932.

He grew up in the Yankton area and attended Prairie School and later Yankton High School. He married Morna Lee Pickering on July 15, 1951, in Yankton. He worked for Herman Morgan at Morgan Manufacturing as a bricklayer. In the late 1950s, he started Simonsen Construction. In 1975, he Glen Weber BRIDGEWATER Glen Weber, 57, died Tuesday, April 6, 1993, in his home.

Mr. Weber was born July 2, 1935. Survivors include two sons: Todd of Tabor, and Jay of Avon; one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Robin) Schnaidt of Menno; five grandchildren; his mother and stepfather, Lillian and Ben Nusz; one brother, Alvin of Freeman; three sisters: Darlene Schulenberg of Cross Plains, Janice Johnson of Sioux Falls, and Celesta Herrboldt of Menno; and two stepbrothers: Archie Klaudt and Delano Klaudt, both of Menno. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Saturday in Walter Funeral Home in Freeman, with burial Unity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Elsewhere Feme Wasserman PALM SPRINGS, Calif. Feme Irene Wasserman, 81, died March 26, 1993, in Palm Springs.

Feme Olson was bom Nov. 9, 1911, in Streator, 111. After her high school graduation, she took a nurse's training course at Ryburn-King Hospital. She completed her education at the University of Minnesota and received her nursing degree in 1933, in Ottawa, 111. She worked for seven years as a registered nurse.

She married Abe Wasserman in 1940 in Peoria, 111. He died in 1985. They moved to California and later settled in Chula Vista, Calif. They owned and managed rental property. For 112 years, she lived in a total-care facility in Palm Springs.

She was a member of Community Congregational Church in Chula Vista for more than 30 years, and taught Sunday school for approximately 15 years. Survivors include one son, Bill of Sioux Falls; one daughter, Susan Wasserman of Palm Springs; four grandchildren: Kim, Tracie, George, and Nathian. $19,874.61 assets $4,814.65. Nancy J. Norton died Wednesday, April 7, 1993, in Mom and Dad's Home and Health Care Center. Anne Kant was born Sept. 11, 1889, on the family homestead southwest of Bryant. She attended rural school near Bryant. She married Jack Paul on July 30, 1908, in Underwood, N.D.

He died July 18, 1944. They lived in De Smet from 1913-17, when they moved to Bryant and owned and operated the Bryant Creamery. In 1932, they moved to Sioux Falls. She was a professional seamstress. During World War II, she sewed chevrons on the uniforms of airmen at the Sioux Falls Air Base.

She worked at Renner Corner Cafe for several years. As a Centennial citizen, she was awarded a parcel of real estate located in the Centennial Acre in Pierre. She was a member of the Renner Lutheran Church, the Renner Community Extension Club and the Rebecca Lodge. Survivors include one son, Ed and his wife, Evelyn, of Sioux Falls; two grandsons: Marshall and Clint Runge; and one granddaughter, Joanne Runge of Hartford. Memorial services will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Saturday at the Renner Lutheran Church, with burial at 12:30 p.m. in Hills of Rest Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at noon today at Miller Funeral Home. Glen Daugaard Glen A. Daugaard, 60, of 1705 S.

Ninth died Tuesday, April 6, 1993, in Sioux Valley Hospital. Mr. Daugaard was born Dec. 11, 1932, in Dell w-wm i Rapids. He grew I in fVia noli I 4 Rapids area and attended rural school in District No.

36. He was graduated from Dell Rapids High School in 1950. He lived on a farm near Dell Rapids until Glen Daugaard 1959, when he moved to Sioux Falls. He worked at Jordon Mill Work from 1954-80. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls.

Survivors include one sister-in-law, Dorothy Daugaard of Gar-retson; nine nephews; one niece; one great-nephew; and six great-nieces. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hope Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, with burial in Dell Rapids Cemetery in Dell Rapids. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. today at the Kahler Funeral Home in Dell Rapids, and prior to services at the church.

State Minnie Schartner MARION Minnie Schartner, 83, died Wednesday, April 7, 1993, in her home. Minnie Schartner was born July 23, 1909, in rural Marion. Survivors include one brother, Jake of Marion; and Caroline Schartner of Marion. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bethesda Mennonite Church in rural Marion, with burial in Schartner Cemetery.

Elroy Rottum ESTELLINE Elroy Julian Rottum, 79, died Thursday, April 8, 1993, in McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Mr. Rottum was born May 5, 1913, in Deuel County near Astoria. He grew up and received his education in Deuel County. He was employed by various farmers in the area.

In 1945, he started farming near Toronto. He married Esther Lunden on Sept. 8, 1945, in Hendricks, Minn. They farmed near Toronto until retiring into Estelline in 1974. He was a past member of Woodlake Lutheran Church near Astoria and was a current member of the Leganger Lutheran Church in Toronto.

Survivors include his wife, Esther of Estelline; one daughter, Barbara Rottum of Sioux Falls; and several nieces and nephews. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Leganger Lutheran Church in Toronto, with burial in the Toronto Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with the family being present from 7 to 8 p.m., at Geise Funeral Home in Estelline and prior to services at the church.

Region Marie Hildebrand DWOOD, Iowa Marie Hildebrand, 75, died Wednesday, April 7, 1993, in the Rock Rapids Care Centre in Rock Rapids, Iowa. Marie Trampp was born Feb. 24, 1918, in Globe, Ariz. She married Dan Williams in 1934. She later married Joe Duke.

She lived in Phoenix, until moving to Inwood in 1983, to be closer to her daughter. She has lived at the Fellowship Village Nursing Home in Inwood for the past two years, and she moved to the Rock Rapids Care Centre in March. Survivors include three sons: Richard Williams and Danny Williams, both of Arizona, and Darryl Duke of Phoenix, two daughters: Mrs. Joe (Vivian) Stephens of Tucson, and Mrs. Allen (Bev) Goree of Larchwood, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in rural Inwood, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon today at the Porter Funeral Home in Inwood, with the family being present from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Kimberly Thomsen SAN DIEGO, Calif. Kimberly Ann "Kim" Thomsen, 31, formerly of Sioux Falls, died Tuesday, April 6, 1993, in her home.

Kimberly Thomsen was born Sept. 27, 1961, in Sioux Falls. In 1970, she moved to San Diego, with her parents. She completed her schooling in San Diego and lived with her parents. Survivors include her parents, Gerhardt "Shorty" and Helena Thomsen of San Diego; four brothers: Arlen of Harrisburg, Randy of Lemon Grove, Craig and Curtis, both of San Diego; and four sisters: Dianne Mead, Doreen Thomsen and Mrs.

Tony (Lorie) Raschick, all of San Diego, and Mrs. Ralph (Bonnie) Stumpp III of Alpine, Calif. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Glen Abbey Mortuary in Bonita, with burial in Glen Abbey Cemetery. Amy Larson DAWSON, Minn.

Amy O. Larson, 71, died Tuesday, April 6, 1993, in the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis, Minn. Amy Johnson was born May 14, 1921, in Beresford. She attended country school and was graduated from Beresford Public School. She later taught in country schools in the Beresford area.

She married George O. Larson on Jan. 8, 1954. He died on Oct. 30, 1974.

Survivors include three sons: David and his wife, Sheila, of Dawson; Allen and his wife, Ra-mona, of Redwood Falls, and Jon and his wife, Renae, of Hills, one daughter, Mrs. Michael (Lois) Carrizales of Blaine, and one sister, Mrs. Gilbert (Mildred) Ustad of Yankton. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson, with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Hanson Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson. LeMorn Iwen ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa LeMorn Lena "Lee" Iwen, 93, died Thursday, April 8, 1993, in the Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital in Rock Rapids. LeMorn Reinking was born Feb. 4, 1900, in Schleswig, Iowa.

She grew up in Schleswig and was graduated from high school in 1918. She married William Iwen on April 8, 1919, in Schleswig. He died in March of 1978. The couple farmed in the area until moving to Nebraska in 1930. They moved to Doon, Iowa, in 1934, where they continued to farm until retiring to Rock Rapids in 1967.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids. Survivors include two sons: Charles of Doon, and William of Rock Rapids; one daughter, Yvonne Borman of Sheldon, Iowa; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, with burial in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m.

"I would hope that he isn't doing this on a personal level, and if he wins, I would hope he does what is in the best interest of the school system."
