His funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday at Croxford Funeral Home, 1307 Central with burial to follow in Dear Highland Cemetery, Great Falls. Croxford Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Dave was born Jan.

24, 1924, in Great Falls to Harry and Hattie (Webb) 1 Dear. He graduated from Simms High School in 1941, followed by a lifetime career in the livestock business, which included both ranching and cattle buying. In 1945, Dave married Donna Corbett, and from this union two daughters were born: Donna "Dolly" and Beverly. They later divorced. In 1964, he married Marvelle Miller, and they had a son, Donald Allen Dear.

Dave, Marvelle, Donnie and Marvelle's son, David Miller, made their home in Havre before moving to Ulm in 1968, where Dave resided until his death. Dave is survived by his daughters, Donna "Dolly" Dugas of Ulm and Beverly Caldwell of Cascade; stepson David Miller of Billings; sonin-law Larry Dugas; seven granddaughters; eight greatgrandsons and six greatgranddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Alice; brothers Douglas and Fred; son Donald in 1985; wife Marvelle in 1993 and son-in-law Jack Caldwell in January 2012. Leroy Frank Leroy Frank, 76, of Great Falls, a retired naval reserve and Air National Guard veteran and mail carrier, died of pre-leukemia Thursday, July 5, at a local hospital. At his request, no services are planned. Cremation will Frank take place with private burial of ashes at Highland Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Leroy was born to Clarence and Mary (Hames) Frank on Jan. 17, 1936, in Great Falls. He spent his entire life in Great Falls and worked as a mail carrier for the Great Falls Postal Service for 31 years, from 1964 to 1995. He was in the Naval Reserves for eight years and in the Air National Guard for two years. Leroy enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

He loved spending time with his friends, playing pool and poker, golfing and traveling. He married Carol Kolski, and they were together for 47 years, until she passed away. Frank is survived by his son, Steven Frank of Great Falls; daughters Toni (Rocky) Zahara and Christy (Willard) Pavao of Great Falls; sister Cindy (Robert) Rio of Great Falls; eight grandchildren, Missy, Jason, Nicholas and Jamie Frank, Rick Rardon, Terri San Agustin, Joey Zahara and Kelsey Johns; and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by two cousins Nancy (JoJo) Lanier, who was like a sister, and Penny Swan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; father; mother; daughter Terri Ribich; and a son, Randy Frank.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Monday at Fifth Avenue Christian Church. Burial to follow at the Highland Cemetery.

Holland Bonine Sargent Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Jolene was born July 2, 1932, to Clyde and Cecil (Gipson) Jackson in Dunbar, Oklahoma. When she was a young girl, she moved with her family to Arizona. She attended grade school in Coolidge, and high school in Flagstaff, Ariz. She married Kenneth Mac Sargent on Jan.

14, 1948, in Flagstaff. Together they moved to Chinook, and then to Havre and raised their family. Jolene worked for the Northern Montana Hospital in Havre as a surgical assistant and retired from Central Supply at the hospital. She worked various places after retiring, including the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, Carlson Shoes and Conrad's Clothing. Her favorite was being the cook for Eagles Manor, where she later lived.

Jolene was a selfless person, always giving to others and working hard. She enjoyed traveling once a year to Arizona. She was a wonderful baker and quietly reserved. She was a member of the Fifth Avenue Christian Church, The Order of Eastern Star and the V.F.W. and Eagles Auxiliaries.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Kenneth Mac Sargent; two brothers, Leon and Don Jackson; one sister, Ann Presley; and her granddaughter, Natalie Patrick. Jolene is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Tom) Patrick of Havre; her three sons, Clyde (Janice) Sargent of Great Falls, Rodney (Susan) Sargent of Billings and Randy (Susan) Sargent of Spring, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Herbert J. Omsberg CUT BANK Herbert James Omsberg, 90, of Cut Bank, a retired diesel mechanic for Glacier Motors and World War II veteran, died of natural causes Wednesday, July 4, at a local hospital. Graveside services are 2 p.m. today at Crown Hill Cemetery, with a celebration follow at 3 p.m. at Cut Bank Moose Lodge.

'Doc' Hansen Harland Rockwell "Doc" Hansen, 89, of Great Falls, a retired implement dealer owner, died of natural causes Thursday, July 5, at a local hospice facility. Visitation is 4-6 p.m.

Harland "Doc" Hansen was born in Great Falls to Jonas and Tallie Hansen of Raynesford.

He graduated from Great Falls High School in 1942. He married Shirley Salo in 1946 and moved to Cascade. They moved to Great Falls in 1948. Harland worked for Edmonsen Realty, H.C. Grinde Company and Gus and Jack's Tire Shop.

He purchased H.R. Hansen Implement Company in 1959 and retired from the implement business in 2002. Harland was a charter member of Bethel Lutheran Church and served on the board of trustees for 35 years. He is a member of Belt Lodge AF AM Scottish Rite, Algeria Shrine Temple, Honorary Knights of Scotland, Eagles Lodge and a member of Cascade Chapter OES Harland served two terms as master of Belt Masonic Lodge. He was President of the Great Falls Implement Dealers Association.

Harland is survived by his wife, Phyllis Hansen; a daughter, Jan Thon and John Cloninger of Kalispell; son Layne (Cathy) Hansen of Naches, grandson Kyle Hansen of Salt Lake City, Utah; and granddaughter Kirsten Hansen of Miyoshi City, Japan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hansen; son Kern Galand; and a brother, Wendell Hansen. Harland was blessed throughout his life with great friends and a supportive community. Cremation has taken place. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Allan Elmer Strickland, 74, of Great Falls, a retired veteran of the United States Air Force and business owner, died of natural causes Thursday, July 5, at a local hospital. A vigil is 7 p.m. Sunday at St.

Joseph's Chapel. Funeral liturgy is 11 a.m. Strickland Monday at St. Joseph's Dear Frank Allan Elmer Strickland was born on January 31, 1938, in Fairfield, Maine, to Elwyn J. and Ida (Horan) Strickland.

He married SueAnn C. Kuglin in 1963 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Allan joined the United States Air Force in 1957 and transferred to Malmstrom AFB, Great Falls, in 1962 with the Missile Maintenance Squadron, where he participated in installing the "Ace in the Hole," the first missile to be placed in Montana. Later, he received a letter of commendation from President John F. Kennedy thanking him for his service.

He was awarded a Presidential Unit Citation for missile work during the Cuban crisis. He left the Air Force in 1968 and opened the Holiday Car Wash. He also managed the Motel Central for 17 years. He joined the Montana Air National Guard and completed 12 more years of service. During that time, he participated in the Red Flag Exercise when they won the USAF Hughes Trophy.

In 1991, he received a heart transplant from a generous donor family, which gave him the gift of life for more years. This gift enabled him to do daycare for his granddaughter, Theresa, who was the delight of his heart for 11 years. He participated in the U.S. Transplant Games in Salt Lake City, Atlanta and Ohio and the World Transplant Games in Sydney, Australia, winning medals in cycling, race walking and the long jump. He continued in competitive cycling for several years.

He was a member of the Great Falls Saddle Club, Great Falls Snowmobile Club, Toy Club, Altered Classics Car Club, Skunk Wagon Antique Auto Club and the Great Falls Archery Club. He was the past President of the Great Falls Trap Club, Mended Hearts Organization and the American Heart Association (Montana Affiliate). He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, where he was head cook for the fish fries. He was a longtime member of Big Sky Cum Cristo and St. Joseph's Parish and enjoyed cooking their fall dinner.

He showed ponies for 39 years at the Montana State Fair. He also showed walking horses and ponies on the Montana State and Intermountain Horse Show circuits. He enjoyed driving his antique Studebaker cars. Allan is survived by his wife, SueAnn C. (Kuglin) Strickland of Great Falls; his daughter, Willow (Mark) Voeller of Great Falls; his son, Steve Strickland of Great Falls; sisters Patricia Fowler of Fairfield, Maine and Debra (William) Wheeler of Grey Hawk, a brother, Richard (Sharon) Strickland of Southington, and a granddaughter, Theresa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Allan Michal Strickland in 1964; and his brother, Elwyn J. Strickland. Eugene H. Ries, 91, of Rapid City, died of natural causes Friday, July 6, at Rapid City Regional Hospice of the Hills. Visitation is 9 a.m. Monday with Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and funeral services at 10 a.m.

Gene met his wife, Mary Ferguson, while on leave, and they married on June 29, 1946. Arley would have celebrated 45 years together this year. While living in Great Falls, she had worked at a bank, the ASC office, a steak house and the lumber yard. Residing in Cut Bank since that time, she enjoyed being a ranch wife. Gerry enjoyed cross stitch, gardening, crafts, golfing and bowling.

She was involved in St. Margaret Catholic Church, Cowbells, WIFE, Women of the Moose and the Eagles Lodge. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Arley Jolliffe of Cut Bank; children, Cathy (Paul) Schulte of Wolf Creek, Ron (Kathy) Lehnerz of Maricopa, Robert (Lani) Jolliffe of Soldotna, Gail (Doug) Mitchell of Spokane, Wash. and Julie Fortune of Essex; brother Dan (Jean) Lind. eth of Choteau; sister Candy Tom) Stenson of Wolf Creek; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Lindseth, Marie and Snappy Stenson; sister and brother-in-law, Valerie and Earl Larson; and son, Timothy Jolliffe.
