C. Finlay of Glen A a and William H. Brown, Ensign in the United States Nnval Reserve, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.

H. Brown, also of Glen Allan, were united in marriage at the Methodist church of that city, on May 1st, at 8 o'clock by the Rev. Van V. Garrclt, rector of St. huries Episcopal church of 7 The church was a i de- oraled for the occasion with urc-enery and white flowers and lighted by ivory tapers i holders.

The bride, who wa given in marriage by her a wore a wedding gown of candle-light satin. Her veil of illusion was held in place by a Juliet cap ot -pearls. She carried iin arm bouquet of brides roses and valley lilies tied with wide satin ribbons. Miss Laura "Constance Fimay, sister of the bride, was maid of Her dress was of white marquisette trimmed with val hire and made along colonial lines. She wore a Juliet cap of starched lace and carried a colonial bouquet of mixed spring The bridesmaids were Miss Charlotte Blackburn McKamy of Chatham, and Miss Hoberta C'imway Alford, cousin of the bride uf Rolling Fork, Miss.

They woro dcntical costumes with that ol the matron of honor, and ned colonial bouquets of the same colors. Little Miss Anne Uzzclle served as flower girl, wearing a dress of marquisette made along Ihe same as those of the maid of honor and bridesmaids. Mr. Brown, father of the groom. served as best man.

The ushers were Earle Triplet! of Erwin, Floyd Alford and Cine Alford of Rolling Fork and James Mann of Glen Allan. before the wedding party entered the church Otis Johnson, jr and Ted Finlay, brother of the bride, lighted the candles. Miss Nell Triplet! played a beau- i melody o' nuptial music on the organ. Miss Agnes Anderson ol Earle. snng, Perfect The Lohengrin and Mendelssohn wedding marches were used.

The wedding reception was held a the ceremony at the home of Ihe bride's parents. A green and white color scheme was carried mil in the decorations and house was lighted throughout by i tapers in crystal holders. The receiving line was made the wedding party, Mrs. Finlay, mother of the bride, who 'j wore a formal of moss green crepe, shoulder bouquet of pink carnations, and Mrs. Brown, mother "I the groom, who wore a light blue formal i sequin jacket and a shoulder bouquet of sweetheart roses.

Among the out of town guests who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Middlclon, Mr. and Mrs. Art Brooks, Miss Frances Brooks, Miss Marianne Dyer, Miss Snodic Coast Guard "Land Cruiser" To Arrive Here A Coast Guard "land cruiser" ill arrive in Greenville i the week or May 17-22, and with it will come women officers of the SPARS, medical and nurse corps officials and enlisted personnel of the Navy to hold public meetings with women who are interested in enlistment i the SPARS and WAVE organizations of the Navy.

The SPARS arc women whose job it is to replace Coast Guard men at shore stations. WAVES replace men at shore stations and the two organizations are practically alike in that their duties are similar and they are both component parts of the Navy. They serve within the continental limits of thc United States. Uniforms worn by SPARS and WAVES are identical except foi the lapel insignia. Both organizations train at indoc- trnial schools present enlistees from Mississippi are receiving their Naval "know-how 1 at famous College in Ncu York.
