She continued as a Tribune Juvenile until 1924, when she took up coaching. Talent and ambition carried her upward fast and it was not long before she was starred on New York's Broadway in "The Desert Song." Success piled upon success. First, the movies; then the radio; over to Loridon, back to pictures and once more the air waves. There followed a highly successful trip to Australia, where World War II caught up with her. She returned to the United States and trouped for USO, appearing in Alaska, the Philippines, in the South Pacific.

Now she's settled down being Mrs. Douglas P. Morris. I EL MONTE her neighbors know her as Mrs. Bernice Claire Morris, charming wife of Dr.

Douglas P. Morris. But in nearby Hollywood and over much of the world of entertainment she is known as Bernice Claire, actress, singer, performer-on the radio. Oaklanders know her as the talented daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

A. A. Jahnigen, 829 Trestle Glen Road. Bernice Claire was a Tribune Juvenile and it was from among those precocious youngsters that she started her upward trek to fame as an entertainer. It was in 1918 that she first appeared as a juvenile, a pert little one with curled tresses who made an immediate impression on all who saw and heard her perform at East- 'fete.
