"They" are the 24-and-. zero records sported by Freeman and Dell Rapids St. Mary's. Perfect-record quintets have had their share of problems during the 40-year history the meet but two more victories for the Flyers and Cardinals and the 1975 tourney would have a first two unbeaten Lincoln's Patriots, coming off two consecutive Sioux Interstate Conference victories, open defense of their Section 3A basketball championship at the Arena tonight (Tuesday). Lincoln, which defeated Heelan and West in its last two outings, finished regular season play with an 8-12 record. Don Barnes' O'Gorman Knights, who dropped two decisions to the Pats this season, are 7-13. Washington, coached by Elton Byre, is 11-8 and Jerry Leischner's Brandon-Valley Lynx are 17-4. One thing sure both Freeman and St. Mary's can't finish unbeaten. Gerry Leischner than we had hoped for, because at the beginning of the year we were thinking of a. 500 season. "We were in fourth place all through the conference tournament.

It was the first time Augustana has finished in the upper division and we finished ahead of a nationally ranked team (South Dakota State)." Kendle praised the efforts of Clare Duda, Augustana 177-pounder, who won his division. "Duda wrestled at heavyweight for us all season long but dropped down to 177 for the conference," said Kendle. "He did just a fantastic job. He's the first conference champ we've had at Augie in eight years." Kendle and five Augustana wrestlers will be traveling to the NCAA Division Two meet. "We're looking forward to it and we're really looking forward to having a good time next season." Monday's meeting was scheduled to be the last of the season for the Jump Ball Club, but members voted to meet once more.
