Glades Central wide receiver Reidel Anthony learned earlier this week that he reached the required test score. All of Miami's recruits met NCAA requirements, as did all of FSU's. But Gray, running back Undra Williams did not meet FSU requirements and won't be admitted. And the athletic department still is awaiting word on whether Miami Northwestern wide receiver Magic Benton has met school requirements. The Miami Hooters (3-3) take on the Arizona Rattlers (5-1) tonight in Phoenix (8 p.m., ESPN).

The Rattlers are tied for first place in the Arena League's American Conference. Arizona quarterback Shedrick Bonner, who has thrown 22 touchdown passes, was injured in last week's 50-7 rout of Las Vegas and is questionable. Woodbridge won the men's doubles and mixed doubles titles at Wimbledon earlier this month. Woodbridge meets sixth-seeded Byron Black in one of today's semifinals. David Wheaton and Mark Petchey meet in the other. Top-seeded Brenda Schultz rallied to down Li Fang 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 to advance to the semifinals of the Mercedes-Benz Trophy clay-court tournament in Palermo, Sicily. Schultz will play the winner of Friday's late match between fourth-seeded Sandra Cecchini and Neus Avila.

The other semifinal matches second-seeded Irina Spirlea against Sandra Dopfer. that he met with Seton Hall Athletic Director Larry Keating about the Pirates' vacant coaching job. Beat The Wheel set a world record for the mile by a trotter, clocking 1:51 45 in East Rutherford, N.J. Beat The Wheel, a 4-year-old filly, was two-fifths of a second faster than the previous mile record for a trotter, set by Mack Lobell as a 3-year-old in 1987.

Bruce's Mill is the favorite in today's Queen's Plate at Toronto's Woodbine Race Course. The race is the first jewel of Canada's thoroughbred Triple Crown. The race, for Canadian-bred 3-year-olds, has attracted a field of 11 for the 1 distance on dirt Wesgate Crown, the 1993 top 2-year-old trotting colt, is the 2-1 favorite in tonight's Yonkers (N.Y.) Trot, the opening leg of the trotting Triple Crown. The other two legs of the Triple Crown will be the million Hambletonian on Aug. 6 and the Kentucky Futurity on Oct.

7. The Palm Beach Kennel Club will honor Pat Rendezvous as its top dog for the 1993-94 season tonight after the sixth race. Pat set a world record for consecutive greyhound victories with 36 during the meet.
