8A, NEWS, THURSDAY, APRIL 2, 1992 OBITUARIES Minnie Dutton Services for Minnie Dutton, 74, were held Monday, March 23, 1992, 2 p.m., from the Ott Lee Chapel in Forest. Rev. Ras Keys officiated. Interment was made in the Lemon Christian Church Cemetery, Raleigh. Mrs.

Dutton passed away on Saturday, March 21, 1992, in Morton, following a sudden illness. She lived in Harrisville for the past nine years. Mrs. Dutton was a member of the Lemon Christina Church, Raleigh, and also attended Holy Bible Assembly of God, Magee. She is preceded in death by her husband, John C.

Dutton, in 1979. Survivors include three daughters: Ruby Russum of Harrisville, Peggy Denson of Morton, and Marie Phillips of Florence; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Ott Lee Funeral Home, Forest, handled the arrangements. hall, passed away Monday, March 23, 1992, of heart failure at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, Jackson. Services were Wednesday, March 25, 1992, 10:30 a.m., at Mendenhall First Baptist Church, with burial in Poplar Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Layton was a life time resident of Mendenhall. She was a retired cafeteria manager of Mendenhall Public School, member of Mendenhall First Baptist Church and the widow of Clarence Layton. Survivors include two sons, John Howard Layton and Thomas Layton, both of Mendenhall; one brother, Woodrow Rankin of Starkville; three sisters, Louvenia Welch of St. Francisville, Roma Bedell of Linden, Mattie Mae Covis of Swartz Creek, 4 grandchildren.

Upton Funeral Home of Mendenhall handled the arrangements. Elsie Calian Ates Gortre S. Craft Elsie Calian Ates, 89, of Gortre S. Craft, 90, of Mize, Magee, passed away Wednesday, passed away Monday, March 23, March 24, 1992, of acute stroke 1992, of heart failure at at Hillcrest Nursing Home. Covington County Hospital.

Jimmy Morgan Jimmy Morgan, 38, of Crystal Springs, passed away Friday, March 27, 1992, of heart attack at Madison, on job site. Services were Monday, March 30, 1992, 11 a.m., at Dry Creek Baptist Church, with burial in Womack Gregory Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Morgan of Pearl River, daughters, Jamie Morgan and Brandy Morgan of Pearl River, brothers, Clifton Morgan and James Morgan, both of Brookhaven. Mims Mitchell Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Ella Ree Entrekin Ella Ree Entrekin, 63, of Braxton, passed away Thursday, March 26, 1992, of complications from hip surgery, at St.

Dominic Hospital, Jackson. Services were Saturday, March 28, 1992, 11 a.m., at New Zion Baptist Church, with burial in church cemetery. She was the widow of Leo Entrekin. Survivors include five daughters, Nina Entrekin of Braxton, Lou Ella Schippers of Whoming, Lou Teria Markus and Pam Reno, both of Grand Rapids, Tina Eady of Harrisville; one brother, Milton Wilson of Arizona; three sisters, Estelle Smith of Florence, Myra Mangum, and Willie Bell Cockrell, both of Mendenhall; 12 grandchildren. Colonial Chapel of Mendenhall handled the arrangements.

BOBBYBobby how to play during the "Chris Everett" racquet and he Country Club. Bobby tennis week. The morning before they were to leave, Bobby went outside and he found a can of tennis balls and a used racquet. He asked his parents if they knew where it came from and they did not. So he went next door and ask the couple and they said that it was his.

Bobby said, "What?" The couple said that they were giving it to him. It was the elderly man's, and he said that since they did not get to teach him how to play that he would give him something so that he could get a start on learning. So Bobby still has the racquet and he said that he does not play with it because it is a laughed. So that is how Bobby got started playing tennis. He recently participated in the Sugar Bowl Classic in New Orleans, winning two matches in the 18 singles category and reaching the quarterfinals.

He lost his next two matches, but brought home the tournament's sportsmanship award. "Winning the sportsmanship award makes me feel better that winning first place," Wilkinson said. "It's an important award to Bobby and his parents." Soulier tries to teach her players that tennis is a game of life and in a tournament most of the participants are losers. There is only one winner. Sportsmanship should not only be practiced on the tennis court but be carrying on throughout life. Bobby is the No. 1 player for the Magee High School tennis team.

He has been a member of Magee's tennis team since the seventh grade. Wilkinson is also currently ranked No. 5 in the state 18 singles. Bobby is currently teaching: a Tennis Class for Beginners in Magee, when he is not traveling to Hattiesburg three or four days a week to practice. Wilkinson has participated in 12 sanctioned tournaments in 1991, winning the McComb Invitational and placing in many other tournaments.

Bobby is hoping to receive a tennis scholarship this year. So Bobby is practicing hard and is hoping for a good performance this spring.
