FOR Pear Muffins Tops As Breakfast Fare By AILEEN CLAIRE NEA Pood Editor Lure the family to breakfast with pear muffins. Flavored with ginger arid lemon, the muffins make an interesting breakfast bread to help break the nonbreakfast habit of so many school children. Ginger-Topped Pear Muffins 1 (Mb.) can Bartlett pear halves cups sifted flour 3 teaspoons baking powder teaspoon salt 3 tablespoons sugar 1 egg 3 cup oil cup pear syrup 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel Ginger Topping Drain pears, reserving syrup. Chop fine. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into bowl.

Combine egg, oil and pear syrup. Pour into flour mixture, stirring just until blended. Fold in chopped pears and lemon peel. Pour into greased muffin tins. Sprinkle with topping mixture.

Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Makes 12. Ginger Topping: Combine 1 tablespoon butter, brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and 1 teaspoon ginger. Mix until crumbly. ENON By MRS.

Addis O'Roark, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Corbin and sons, Mrs. Linda Weeks were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs.

Nelson Barron and sons. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Sykes, Oakdale, arrived Saturday evening for a visit with her mother, Mrs. Laura Paris, and other relatives and friends.

Happy Hollow Club met with Mrs. Walter Jones Thursday afternoon. Officers were elected. Mr. and Mrs.

Dick Corbin and Mr. and Mrs. Lyndal Fuller and son were Wednesday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Corbin and sons.

Mr. and Mrs. Willie Sykes, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sykes were Sunday dinner guests of Mr.

and Mrs. Forrest Sykes and family. Afternoon visitors were Mrs. Lula William, Mr. and Mrs.

Bill Brown, Mrs. Alma Myers, Roy McNew, Danny (Harris. Mr. and Mrs. Hobart Hudson called on Mr.

and Mrs. Vernon Goll Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Lennie Brownley, Mr.

and Mrs. John Isaac, Mrs. Jane Rae LaBlac and J.D., and Mrs. Vesta Stamm spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.

Otto Wilson, Clark. Mr. and Mrs. Georgie Green spent Friday with Mr. and Mrs.

(Lennie Brownley and Mrs. Ada Sykes. Mrs. Sykeg accompanied them home for a visit. Those who called on Mrs.

Ginger lemony pear muffins make breakfast a treat for all ages. Gets Life in Slaying Of Pregnant Housewife Laborer Still Accused in Two Other Murders. ST. LOUIS A plumber's laborer accused in the fa tal stabbing of a pregnanl housewife, her husband and her mother-in-law last Halloween, was found guilty Monday of one of three murder charges filed against him. An all-male jury found Edward Johnson, 29, guilty of the fatal stabbing of Mrs.

Marilyn Rohs, 23. Mrs. Rohs, her husband, Wil ly, 23, and his mother, Mrs. Hermines Rohs, 60, were attacked in their west end apartment. The older woman and Rohs died at the scene.

Marilyn Rohs lived 10 days, long enough to identify Johnson as one of her assailants. She lost her baby before dying of the effects of her wounds. Willie Smith, 28, also faced charges of murdering all three members of the Rohs family. He goes on trial November 9. It was not announced whether Johnson would stand trial on the remaining charges.

The jury assessed Johnson's sentence at life imprisonment. The state asked for the death penalty.
