The Daily Press offers two kinds of obituaries. One is a brief death notice, which is published without charge. The other is a paid obituary, which allows families to publish extended obituary information of their choice. Death notices and paid obituaries appear in sans serif type that looks like this. Obituaries prepared by our staff as news stories appear in the same type as other stories in the paper, like this.

The cost for Paid Obituaries is $2.50 per line. Families may publish a photograph to go with the death notice or paid obituary. A half-column photo is $25; a full-column photo is $40. Obituaries can be submitted in person at the main office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

On the weekend, the hours are 12:30 to 5 p.m. Faxed obituaries are accepted until 5:30 p.m. any day of the week.
