-Jeanette Abbey Studio. Mrs. Daniel J. Clark Clark-Pittenger Rites Recited in Military Service Brookings, S.D., Aug. 23- Father Marbach officiated at the military service which united in marriage Zona Bain Pittenger Capt.

Daniel James Clark, Heavener, Okla. They recited their vows at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Saturday. Mrs. Dorothy Lees attended as matron of honor.

Mrs. Donald Rust was soloist, accompanied on the organ by Miss Marlene Olson. Major Isom Perry Clark Jr. was best man. Ushers were Capt.

Jay C. Webb and Lt. John E. Gudge. A reception followed in the church parlors.

Mrs. Clark has been employed here. Capt. Clark is a graduate of the University of Arkansas. Following a wedding trip to the Ozark Mountains, the couple will be at home in Brookings Sept.

Ronald J. Feterl Salem Couple Recites Vows Salem, S.D., Aug. 21-Miss Mary Alice Jenneman, daughter of Mrs. Louise Jenneman, became the bride of Ronald Joseph Feterl, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Louis Feterl, Tuesday morning. Father J. R. Kasch officiated at the Mass at St. Mary's Church.

Miss Jeanette Jenneman was maid of honor for her sister. Miss Alice Feterl was bridesmaid. Pete Weber sang, accompanied by Mrs. Mike Ahlers, organist. Richard Feterl and John Stiefvater attended the bridegroom.

Ushers were Arnold Bernard Feterl. Miss Lurene Feterl hosted the reception at St. Mary's Hall. Assisting were Mesdames Don Igou, Bob Feterl, Charles Eich, and the Misses Jeanette Kass, Melaine Ahlers, Elaine Gury, Ardella Kalbeck, Pat Mentele and Donna Warn. Also assisting were Robert Jenneman Carl Koch, Joe Feterl, Martin Feterl and Sylvan Carruthers.

The bride has been employed in Salem. Mr. Feterl was recently discharged from the armed forces, having served 16 months in Korea. For her wedding trip to the Black Hills, Mrs. Feterl wore a yellow linen dress with white accessories.

Local Court of CDA Gets National Award- Court St. Patricia, No. 271, Sioux Falls, was honored this week with the National Citations Award of the Catholic Daughters of America, for its 28 years of service in promoting youth activities through its Junior CDA program. Court St. Patricia was the only court in the country this service record.

The National Citation Award was conferred on Court St. Patricia by Miss Frances M. Maher, supreme regent, and Miss Beatrice M. Hoffman, national junior director. Social Notes Sioux Falls Federation of Trade Union Auxiliaries met Wednesday night at Fenn's Fountain Room.

Mesdames John Stricherz, Francis McDonald, Thomas Dodds and Ted Lang had charge of arrangements. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Ralph Morris, Mrs. Vernon Mundt, Mrs. Palmer Teslow and Mrs.

J. Neuman. Mrs. R. Fitzgerald gave report of the recent convention at Huron.

Plans were made to sponsor a dance Oct. 20. To women Thursday, Aug. 23, 1956 Sioux Falls Args-Leader Development Lecture State Teachers Meeting "The Place of Child Development and Family Relationships in the Curriculum," was the text of this morning's lecture by Dr. Glen Hawkes, head of the child development department, Iowa State College, Ames, at the conference for homemaking teachers sponsored by the State Department of Public Instruction and the South Dakota Homemaking Teachers Ass'n at the YWCA.

Dr. Hawkes stressed the need of child development to today's high standards as people are marrying younger and have less opportunity to learn from brothers or sisters in the smaller families of today. He also stressed the importance of human relations in the present world; 1 the need to study and learn early how to get along with others in this rapidly changing world, and through research and study, parents can be more effective, and in this way there should be less problems. Miss Winifred Hohf provided the organ music, and accompanied soloist William Desmond Jr. Cindy Bicknell served as flower girl. John Buckstead, Peoria, acted as best man for his brother. Dick Snowden attended. Ushers were Bill Branson, Andre Ptak, Dick Snowden and Lynn Shoemaker.

Mrs. William Sly hosted the reception in the church parlors. The bride is a graduate of South Dakota State College, where she was Miss State College of 1953. She will teach in Yankton Public Schools this fall. Mr.

Buckstead, a veteran of the Armed Forces, will continue his studies at the University of South Dakota, where he is enrolled in the School of Busi-. ness. Their wedding trip was to Chicago and Milwaukee. They will live in Yankton. Mr.

and Mrs. Edwin H. Johnson and daughter, Joanna, Bronxville, N.Y., are visiting here with her mother, Mrs. L. L.

Hume Ward officiated. Autending were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Nicholas, Miller. The newlyweds left for California to make their home there.

Carolyn Foss is Shower Honoree- Miss Carolyn Foss, whose wedding to Clare O. Vollan is set for Sept. 30 in the First Methodist Church, was honored at a prenuptial shower. Mrs. H.

Brinkmeyer, 300 E. 21st hosted the event, assisted by Mrs. E. H. Carlson.

Games were played with prizes won going to the honoree. The bride's-elect colors of gold and brown were used in the decorations. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Halverson, residents of Sioux Falls until three years ago, have returned to Orlando, after a months visit with her parents, Mr.

Centerville, S.D., Aug. 23--Exchanging vows in a candlelight ceremony Wednesday, were Miss Dorothy Peterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence A. Peterson, Arley H.

Smit, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Smit. The Rev. F.

L. Damgaard, Centerville, officiated at the Beresford Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Miss Margaret Peterson was maid of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were Miss Claire Westling and Miss Doris Rollag, Beaver Creek, Minn. Mrs.

James Oakland was organist, and accompanied soloist Robert W. Johnson, Worthing. Attending the bridegroom were Eldon Smit, Ray Smit and Jerry Kappenman. Donald and Maynard Isaacson seated the guests. The reception was hosted by Dagny Osthus, Beresford.

The bride attended Augustana College, Sioux Falls. Her bridegroom has been associated with the Brookings Ball Club. They will make their home in Sioux Falls where the bride is an elementary teacher. Their address will be 112 N. Prairie Ave.

Cooking Is Fun By CECILY BROWNSTONE FRIDAY FARE Creamed Fresh Salmon Toast Salad Blackberries Beverage Creamed Fresh Salmon Ingredients: 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, 2 tablespoons flour, cup stock (in which salmon was poached), cup milk. 2 teaspoons lemon juice, teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, cup cooked drained green peas, 1 canned drained pimiento (cut in thin strips), to 1 cup flaked poached fresh salmon. salt, pepper. Method: Melt butter in saucepan over low heat; stir in in flour. Remove from heat.

Gradually pour in stock and milk, stirring until smooth after each addition. Stir in lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce. Cook and stir constantly over moderately low heat until bubbly and thickened. Stir in peas, pimiento and salmon; add salt and pepper to taste; reheat. Makes 3 servings.

Sick and Injured Condition was reported unchanged today for both Mr. and Mrs. Donald Nordstrom, 1300 W. 10th patients at Sioux Valley Hospital. The couple were involved in a car-truck accident near Holland, Tuesday.

The hospital said Mrs. Nordstrom had a fair night. Soft custard sauce (to serve with fruit) and mayonnaise are two of the good homemade dishes you can whip up with leftover egg yolks. John Kramer performed the ceremony in the Baptist Church. Miss Deloris Erickson was maid of honor, by Miss Phylis Johnson, bridesmaid. Gail Lee was flower girl. David Brown was ringbearer, Miss Janet Hoglund was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Carl Palm, providing the traditional nuptial music.

Allen and Lyle Johnson attended their brother. Ushers were Dick Helgesen and Jerry Ikast. The reception was in the church parlors. MOCHA LOG 6 eggs, separated 1 cup sugar teaspoon salt teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup sifted enriched flour Confectioners' sugar Put egg whites in large mixing bowl; egg yolks in a smaller one. Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry.

Beat in sugar gradually, about 2 tablespoons at a time. Beat egg yolks until thick lemon colored. Beat in salt and vanilla extract. Fold egg yolks into egg whites. Cut and fold in flour in 4 additions.

Continue folding 2 minutes after last addition. Turn into jelly roll pan inches that has been greased and lined with waxed paper. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees until surface springs back when touched lightly with the finger (about 10 to 15 minutes). Turn upside down immediately onto a towel sprinkled with confectioners' sugar. Remove paper from cake and trim crusty edges, if necessary.

Roll up cake in towel, beginning at the long side. Cool in towel on cooling rack. Place on long, flat surface. Unroll gently and remove towel. Spread cake with Cococa Cream Filling.

Re-roll firmly and frost with Mocha Butter Cream. Garnish as desired with finely ground pistachios or pecans, or halved candied cherries. Chill in refrigerator at least 3 hours before serving. This roll keeps well and may be made a day ahead. Makes 8 servings.
