By LLOYD NOTEBOOM Arfli-LMdrr Staff Writer Proposed street and highway Improvements in and around Sioux Tails could keep city, county and state road crews hopping for some time.

Recommendations from the Highway Committee of the Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce are in the offing. A detailed survey of the overall highway system into, through and around Sioux Falls will come first. Preliminary work on some of the projects has begun. Other projects are only In the suggestion stage. Work toward the proposed "Logan avenue bypass" around the east edge of Sioux Falls.

(The city has been informed by Charles J. Dalthorp, director of Department of Highways, that the state will take action to complete Its survey and proceed with the acquisition of right-of-way if the city will acquire the necessary right-of-way.) Tentatively, the bypass would begin two miles south of Foster corner south of Sioux Falls on highway 77. It would travel northeast to the southeast corner of Tuttle Park, then to Logan avenue and north on Logan to the vicinity of N. Minnesota avenue. It Is suggested that the highway would swing east along the north edge of the city to a point some 1,000 a bridge across the Missouri River In the Platte area.

Work toward the extension of E. 26th St. with a bridge over the river to give better access to the new development at the east edge of the city. Encourage the State Highway Commission and City Commission to widen Cliff avenue south from 10th street and Improving, modernizing and strengthening the Cliff avenue bridge. Study a master plan of highway improvement throughout eastern South Dakota to make certain all roads in this area are Improved to better facilitate movement of traffic into and out of Sioux Falls and the adjoining 100-mile radius.

Recommend to the City Commission the blacktopping of Ki-wanis avenue from Highway 16 north to the old Highway 33 approach in West Sioux Falls. Discuss with City Commission plans for improving 33rd street. Also Include possibility of extending pavement west from Western avenue to Kiwanis. Recommend paving of 6th street east from Cliff avenue to feet south of the junction of High' ways 77 and 38A.)
