6A THE NORTHSIDE SUN, JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI Thursday, August 15, 1991 Services were held from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Robert Edwin (Ed) McCoy of 1620 County Line Rd. The Rev. Russell Fletcher officiated. McCoy, 49, died July 27 in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. A resident of Jackson since the age of two, he was born in Mobile.

He attended Power Elementary School, Bailey Junior High and Murrah High School where he graduated in the class of 1959. He attended Mississippi State University and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi. He formerly was associated with the State of Mississippi in the Audit Department. In 1975 he became associated with O.P.I. Oil Drilling company out of Houston, Texas and worked and lived in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Iran, Liberia, Nigeria, Belgium and Oklahoma.

He was a former member of the Jackson Jaycees and was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Cathy McCoy of Belgium; daughters, Tonya McCoy Christou of Canada, Julie McCoy of Belgium; sons, Robert E. McCoy Jr. of New York, Mathieu McCoy and Jeremy McCoy, both of Belgium; parents, Mr.

and Mrs. E. E. McCoy of Jackson and New Augusta; sisters, Mary McCoy Ladner of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Linda McCoy Cromartic of Arlington, brother, Calvin McCoy of Bolton; two grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie McCoy. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Association. Pallbearers were Calvin McCoy, George Gardner, Ted Copeland, Dell Barnett, Pat Smith and Bill Milligan. Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery. Ruby L.

Lavinghouze Obituaries Robert E. McCoy Services were held August 1 12 from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for. Mrs. Ruby Lee Lavinghouze of 1226 Plantation Blvd. Mrs.

Lavinghouze, 82, died August 10 at St. Dominic- Jackson Memorial Hospital. A native of Shivers, she had been a resident of Jackson since 1941. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church where she was a member of the Keenagers Club. She was associated with the church nursery and the kindergarten for a number of years.

Survivors include her husband, Gordon P. Lavinghouze of Jackson; son, G. Mitch Lavinghouze of Jackson; three grandchildren, Steve Lavinghouze and granddaughter-inlaw, Laura M. Lavinghouze, Robin Lavinghouze and Deborah Heard and grandson-in-law, Clifton W. Heard; great granddaughter, Kristena Leigh Heard; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church Day Care Center. Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery. Dorothy P. Neely from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs. Dorothy Poole Neely of 4050 Robin Dr.

Mrs. Neely, 75, died August 10 at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. A native of Roxboro, N.C., she had been a resident of Jackson for more than 65 years. She was a graduate of Central High School and had attended Belhaven College.

She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Walter Taylor Neely of Jackson; son, Walter P. Neely of Jackson; daughter, Anne Simms of Simi Valley, three grandchildren, Andrew, Katy and Taylor Neely, all of Jackson, Memorials may be made to St. Luke's United Methodist Church or Millsaps College.

Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Merle Owen Services were held August 7 from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home for Mrs. Merle Williams Owen of 4171 Ridgewood Rd. The Revs.

Harold Fleming and Harold Jordan officiated. Mrs. Owen, 77, died August 5 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. A native of Jackson, she lived in Northeast Jackson for 22 years. St.

Survivors include her husband, William F.

Owen two sons, Skip Owen of Jackson and Donald F. Owen of Sierra Vista, several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Sam Owen, Carol Owen, Gaines Owen, Dave Ellis, Opie Ellis and Fred Upton. Burial was in the Cedarlawn Cemetery. C.

A native of Johns, he had been a resident of Jackson for 60 years. He was a member of Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church. He was past president of the National Association General Contractors of America, past president of the Association General Contractors of Mississippi: and had served 10 terms on the board. He had served on the board of River Hills Tennis Club. He was a World War II veteran and was airline pilot for PanAm Airways.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Collier; son, Robert E. (Bob) Bullock of Jackson; daughters, Mary Collier Sugg and Patricia Lynn Williams, both of Atlanta; brother, Burham Bullock of Houston, Texas; sisters, Lu Lee of Jackson and Beth Davis of Mobile; four grandchildren. Wass Services were held August 13 from Hubbard Lake, Mich. for Edward H. Wass of 333 Decelle St. Wass, 89, died August 6 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. A native and life long resident of Detroit, he had been a resident of Jackson for one and a half years.
