May 31, 1993 Looking for the oldest in Magee The search is on for the oldest living resident of Magee. Mayor Pete Russell hopes to recognize the oldest Magee resident when Magee holds its second annual Homecoming '93 on June 19, 1993. Submissions must be in The Magee Courier by May 31, 1993. Mrs. Crosby was a native of Jeff Davis County. She was a member of the Mendenhall United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Edward D. Crosby. The youth of the First Baptist Church made $450 on their car wash, with that to be used on the youth Gulfshore trip. They are also enjoying the Fun-Food-Worship and fellowship that they get when they attend the youth group each Friday night at the family life center. Last Sunday night they put on a play called "The Champion" directed by the George girls. At the close of service, a gift of appreciation was given to the George family as they are leaving for their new home in Louisville, Miss. The beautiful clock will look good in their new den.

It was conducted by Rev. William H. Dowling and several attended in spite of the rain and stormy weather. The First Baptist and Methodist Churches enjoyed a joint worship service Easter, with Dr. Sammy McDonald, pastor of Baptist Church as evangelist.

Plans are also underway for our joint Vacation Bible School that will be May 31 thru June 4 at First Baptist Church Family Life building. Several of the youths of First Baptist Church attended the Dawson McAllister Student Conference that was held in Jackson last week. They reported a good time and received a great blessing in attending. Mrs. Freida Wigginton is now in the Convarest Nursing Home in Mendenhall.
