The minister had been having heart trouble since last December: He had an attack before Christmas and a second one six weeks ago. He was taken to St. Joseph when he had a third seizure Tuesday night. Mr. Haggerty was born in New Orleans.

He and his widow Mildred, a former actress, studied the ministry and were ordained together at the Unity School'of Christianity in Lees Summit, Mo. They were associate ministers at Christian Unity of Beverly Hills before starting the church 20 years ago. Mr. Haggeriy retired from the active ministry in August 1965 and traveled throughout the country delivering Unity lectures. A a mily spokesman a i Mr.

Haggerty was fjuite fond of poems--he memorized 2000 of them. Also surviving the minister are two sons. Joseph Jerome Jr. of Santa Monica and Donald Lawrence of Pasadena; a daughter Kathleen -Marie Collins, who lives in Mexico, and a p-daughter, Barbara Hart, who resides in the family home at 11508 Kill- ibn North Hollywod.
