Other Schools of County Also Show Increase Over Last Fall I -v S-A da Hurst Mosteller Succumbs At Age 63 Mrs Ida Hurst Mosteller aged 63 died at the home 1019 Capital avenue Sunday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock following a long illness -She was orn in Illinois October 27 1866 She had lived in Ogden for twenty yearsj Her husband Frank Mos-eller who died eight years ago was bookkeeper for the Paine and Hurst store) Surviving are two daughters Mrs Charles Simpson of Missoula Mont and Miss Rosa Mosteller of Ogden One sister Mrs John Hutchison of Chicago and one brother John Hurst of Los Angeles also survive The Kirkendall-Darling mortuary is in charge of arrangements While employed in icing cars for he Pacific Fruit Express company in the railroad yards Sunday Edward Hall 35 of 521 Twenty-fourth street fell from a car roof and suffered a broken left shoulder He war taken I to the Dee hospitaL Dr I Morrell said that the injuries ar- not of a serious nature United Spanish War veterans will services for Mr Jude were held Sunday afternoon in the First ward chapel with Bishop Garner presiding The opening prayer was given by Yool The speakers were Herman Van Braak Harold Price John Kruitbosch Har ris Henry Denkers John Neuteboom and Bishop Garner The singers were Arminta West Violet Banford and Mrs Ethel Holbrook Inter ment was made In the Mount Ogden Memorial park Bishop James Harbertson dedicated the grave A coroner's jury Investigating the fatal injury to Fred Jude 65 3209 Wall avenue on the evening of October 1 when he was run over by a motor car driven by A1 Luthy 776 Twelfth street rendered a verdict this morning in municipal court that the death was caused by an FOUR MEN CALLED Statements of two pedestrians and a motorman for the Bamberger Electric railroad eye witnesses to the accident were to the effect that Mr Jude was doing some work along the tracks of the Bamberger company and glaring lights from a motor engine obscured vision of Mr Luthy who was driving his automobile northerly on Lincoln avenue near the intersection of Twenty-fifth street There was no evidence of fast driving or negligence in the operation of the automobile Those who Failure To Ap- pear In Court Marsh accused of disturbing the peace October 2 appeared in city court for trial luis morning but Assistant County Attorney Kennett Malan dismissed the action stating that the complaining witness Bert Johnson had refused to testify against Marsh Judge Barlow charged costs of action in the sum of $5 to the witness for failure to appe This will be only a civil charge against the witness and not in the form of a fine Dennie Hanson pleaded guilty to a charge of carrying a revolver without first procuring a permit He was fined $5 He wa sarrested Saturday night Bail of Charles accused of disturbing the peace October 5 was declared forfeited upon failure to appear in court The bail was in the sum of $25 Fred Rawson was fined $1 for operating a car with the cutout open October 2 Charged with reckless driving Saturday evening Ed Garner pleaded guilty and was fined $20 with al ternative of ten days in jail Mrs King was fined $1 for using a car minus one of the license plates Mrs King explained that it was not her bar and that the license plate had been left off by mechanic who had been re pairing it ageTwillard RESIDENT DIES Sarah Wray Woodland 95 Came To Utah Eighty Years Ago Sarah Wray Woodland pioneer of 1850 aged 95 died at ther home in South Willard at 11:45 Sunday night following a few illness She was born on July 25 1835 In Michigan a daughter of William and Elizabeth Wray Walker At the age of 15 she came with her parents to Utah a-id endured the privations and hardships of crossing the plains walking the whole dis tance She married David Whittaker in Willard and made her home there In 1862 she was married to Thomas Woodland in the endowment house in Salt Lake She was the oldest resident of Box Elder county and was known as a helpful neighbor and friend Up to a short time ago Mrs Woodland enjoyed good health and in July visited daughter in' St Anthony Ida and went on a motor our of Yellowstone park She resumed from Idaho to her home in Willard late in September and was taken ill shortly afterward Surviving are the following sons and daughters: David Whitaker Mrs Josiah Marsh Woodland and Isaac Woodland Willard Mrs Alma Singleton St Anthony' Ida Mrs Hickman Ogden There are 37 grandchildren 106 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren also sur viving Services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 in the Wil lard ward chapel with Eph raim White In charge The body may be viewed at the home Tues day afternoon and evening and Wednesday until I Burial will be made in the Willard ceme tery under the his old friendships and again went wrong this time robbing the Hospital confectionery on August 21 He pointed out that Dalton is "pretty young to go to the and said he dreads becoming a felon This is the first time Dalton appears to have realized the seriousness of crime he declared- Mr Johnson said he believed the attempt to straighten Dalton out was worth trying but left the matter up to the discretion of the court declaring Dalton was ready for sentence if the judge so ruled District Attorney David Wilson said that if there was any chance in the world to reform Dalton he would not resist the parole He said the industrial school does net want him back WILL SEND WORD Mr Porter promised to keep Dalton busy and said he would notify the court upon the first bad move Judge Pratt warned Dalton he would impose sentence if he fal-tered even slightly and advised him to break off old associations Dalton in company with two other youths recently sent to the penitentiary attempted to dig out of the Weber county jail some weeks ago Tony Bewchi in municipal court this morning forfeited $100 bail tor failure to answer a charge of having for sale unstamped cigarets Rosie Bewchi forfeited $300 bail Saturday on a charge of liquor possession The two Bewchies were arrested by federal and city officers Friday afternoon Frank Martin accused of exceeding the speed limit with an automobile in Riverdale October 5 failed to appear and his bail of $10 was declared forfeited Lee Smith forfeited a $50 bail for careless and imprudent driving of an automobile on the Riverdale road September 27 Both were state cases The following federal liquor possession cases turned over- to the state for prosecution were called in municipal ocurt this morning: John Harmos pleaded not guilty and trial was set for October 11 The same date was set for hearing the case of Bill Baker Frank Malonis pleaded not guilty and time of trial fixed for October 12 Bert Baldwin pleaded guilty and was given $298 fine of public roads accompanied by Wright deputy engineer of the state road commission returned Sunday afternoon from an Inspection trip over the roads of southern Utah They covered territory from Nephl
