A murder and suicide at Hoquiam Saturday evening snuffed out the lives of Frank Sisney and his wife Mrs. Ruby Sisney, both of whom for a while during 192G made their residence in Chehalis.

Sisney shot his wife three times following a heated argument over their 16-year-old daughter, Florence. Two bullets entered the woman's head and one went Into her back. Then Sisney put a bullet through his brain. Death came to both of them two hours later, at 8 o'clock, at a Hoquiam hospital. Their married life had been a tempestuous one for many months and one chapter of it found its way into the Lewis county courts last summer as has previously been related in the columns of the Bee-Nugget. Paul, an old-time resident of Chehalis. Later Sisney came west and induced his wife to go to Gray's Harbor with him, a married daughter living there. Paul of Chehalis will never be brought to trial in the Lewis county superior court, due to Saturday night's gruesome tragedy at Hoquiam, when Sisney shot and killed his former wife, Mrs. Ruby Sisney, and committed suicide. July 25, 1926, Sisney came to Chehalis and drove to the Ritzman farm three miles south of Toledo, where his wife had taken refuge with friends. Paul was stopping at Ritzman's and when Sisney appeared to forcibly take his wife away there was a fight in which Paul was badly beaten over the head. Sisney was held on a first degree assault charge in Justice O.

A. Tucker's court August 2 and was placed under $350 bonds, an appeal being taken. This case was afterwards dismissed by the county attorney. Later Sisney filed the damage suit against Paul. The latter had been conducting the West Side apartments in Chehalis previously and after Mrs.

Sisney came here from Missouri she lived there for a time as housekeeper. Following Sisney's arrival from Missouri he claimed that he had found out that Paul had won his wife's affections from him. Later he took Mrs. Sisney with him to Gray's Harbor, where she remained until she took refuge at Ritzman's, according to the story that she told the latter. Paul is an old-time resident of Chehalis and Lewis county and was rated as fairly well-to-do.

Onalaska, Feb. Onalaska Parent-Teachers' Association held a very entertaining meeting at the grade school Monday night. The Chehalis Moose basketball team played the Dryad town team last Friday evening at the local Moose gymnasium. Dryad led at the end of the first half, 24 to 12. John Pukkula, who some time ago escaped from the State Training School at Chehalis, will be returned to the school from Hoquiam where he was arrested Friday. Pukkula, 16-year-old Hoquiam lad, is charged with robbery. A reported confession involved other boys of city.

It was also decided that the A. will promote the Community chorus which will enter the county contest at the musical festival this spring. A prize of another fine picture will be awarded at the March meeting to the room which has the greatest number of visitors during the month of February 7 to March 7. Thursday was designated by Mr. Bailor as the best day for visiting, but visitors on other days will count just the same.

The 'talk by Rev. Randall, was much enjoyed and the hope was expressed by many that the A. would be fortunate enough get him for their speaker at some date. The Christian Endeavor under the 'eadership of the president, W. J.

Passey, will present the following program of services at the Onalaska Community church Sunday evening at 7 3 0 Prelude; song service; prayer; hymn; reading by Mrs. W. J. Passey; duet, Frances and Margaret Gunder; scripture lesson, M. J.

Pierson; special music by junior choir; offertory; evening's subject, "Chickens Come Home to Roost," Wm. J. Passey; hymn; postlude. Miss Marian Raymond will act as organist. Everyone is cordially invited to these services.

Dr. and Mrs. W. P. Morison and family and the doctor's mother, Mrs S.

J. Morison, visited with relatives in Aberdeen Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. R.

W. DeLano and family visited over the week-end with their daughter, Cecil Cook of Raymond. Their son, Royal, returned home with them for a visit. Miss Mamie Manberg spent the week-end with home folks at Lincoln creek. Miss Alice Bringhurst spent week-end in Seattle, where she met her brother from Cleveland, Ohio, whom she had not seen in 12 years.

Thursday night the Eastern Star held initiation followed hy a banquet and a dancing party. Guests were present from Chehalis, Longview and Saturday night Mr. and Mrs. E. W.

Inman entertained a few friends with "500." Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Henry Choiniere, Mr. and Mrs. C.

Winlock, Feb. a result of owners refusing to pay paying assess- ments against their property for the past ten years, about thirty lots and one tract outside the city limits of Winlock will become the property of the town this month. The town council voted to pay the last payment of taxes and assessment against the property and as a result the town automatically comes in possession of the same this month.

The lots are located in various places about town, most of them having been given up by their owners because they did not want to pay the assessments the paving that was put in ten years ago. Plans are being made to conduct a public sale as soon as the town comes in full possession of the lots. W. C. T.
