Born in Union county to Howard and Mary Kate Hall and raised in Ellistown, MS, Mr. Hall graduated from Sherman High School. He served in the Army and received his landscape architecture degree from Mississippi State University. He was the Superintendent of Campus and Grounds at Mississippi College for thirty years and was a member of First Baptist Church, Clinton.

He served as the Execu tiv Direc tor the Mis sis si pp i Ch ar ity orse Show for many years, featuring Tennessee Walking Horses, a breed he loved. An avid hunter, he enjoyed pheasant hunting with friends in South Dakota. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Tarrant Hall; and his daughter, Gigi Hall Wall. He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Edwards (Ted) of Clinton and Joanna Mixon (Barry) of Goose Creek, SC; grandchildren, Meredith Collins (McLean), Anna Ketchum (Tye), David Mixon (Kristina), Melanie Wyndham (Frank), Brooks Edwards, and Chase Wall; and four great granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mississippi College Athletic Department, P.O. Box 4049, Clinton, MS 39058. Edward Wayne Redmond Byram Eddie Redmond, 53, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016, at his home in Byram. Visitation will be Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. There will be a visitation from with funeral services beginning at Monday, October 31, 2016 in the funeral home chapel.

Interment immediately following at Terry Cemetery. Eddie lived most of his life in Byram and was a member of Wynndale Baptist Church. He was an avid billiards player, enjoyed fishing and the Waffle House. Willie Pruitt Blalock Brandon Willie Pruitt Blalock, 81, passed away Oct. 27, 2016 at the G.V. Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Sat. Oct.

30, 2016 at the Ott Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Edwards Cemetery in Hinds County, MS. Mr. Blalock was born in Raymond, MS. and grew up in Edwards, MS. He has been a longtime resident of Brandon, MS, where he was a member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. Blalock was a graduate of Mississippi College and served his county with the U.S Army during the Korean War. He was also a heavy supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and went on many trips to Philmont. Mr. Blalock was a member of the 1957 Championship Football Team with Hinds Comm unit Coll ege and was also embe of he Hi nds Comm unity Col lege oot ball Hall Fame.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann Blalock; four children, Sharron Blalock Mathis (Ronnie), Ashley Blalock Pickel (Trent), Richard David Blalock (Dianne) and Raymond Pruitt Blalock (Debra); sister, Mildred Laubscher; ten grandchildren, Christopher Mathis, Sarah Gilmore, Rachael Mikeska, Donna Dunn, Devin Brummett, Dillon Boyette, Allisa Pickel, Brooke Pickel, Amanda Blalock Taylor and David Blalock; 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Blalock is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Algus Blalock; sister, Fannie Mae Walton and a brother, Harvey Blalock. Helen Dennis Brandon Helen Francis Dennis, 54, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 at MS Baptist Hospital in Jackson. She was raised in Jackson before moving to Brandon where she attended Crossgates Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed reading, was an avid coffee drinker and a devoted Alabama Crimson Tide fan She also loved er two dog Odie and Nubber. Helen was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Murphree. He was born on January 08, 1960 to his parents, Charlie Walker Sanders and Rebecca Dean (Millis) Sanders in Mendenhall, MS. ya the marker of a teen buried at a ville cemetery declares. hath done what she reads an epitaph in the Old Biloxi Cemetery for a woman who bequeathed her money to support preachers, their widows and orphans. sad to part with those we love, to lay them in the grave, and say farewell to a dazzling child, we would have died to is no doubt a message on the gravestone of a child who died at age 5 and 11 months. Indeed, there are sad stories a single date on the marker for a child who was born and died the same day, or the identical date on the side-by-side graves of an infant and woman who died in childbirth. But then there are mementos like a can of Budweiser on a grave, or a sign at the grave of an Ocean Springs Greyhounds fan, that are reminders the person buried there is loved.

An internet search for the list of cemeteries in the three Coast counties returns more than 100 locations, and still more family plots probably make the list. Each cemetery has its own spirit and personality and some are legendary. The Garden of Hope Cemetery on a back road in Gautier is private and locked, but on several lists of scariest cemeteries in the state and country. Legend has it that a man who killed his wife and five children with an ax are buried together there. One of the daughters has been seen wandering the cemetery in a blue dress.

The Rock Roll Graveyard, as called, is down a country road dappled with sun rays through the trees, not far from downtown Ocean Springs. Amid the pretty setting, people claim to be spooked by a woman in white sitting in a rocking chair. the dead ones got to worry said Tony Murphy, evoking an often-used quote. worked in cemeteries for 25 years at Monuments in St. Martin.

Recently at Evergreen Ceme- tery in Ocean Springs, he and his crew were restoring the family plot, where former Biloxi Mayor Jerry was buried recently. The cemetery meanders among the trees and has views of the bayou. a fine piece of Murphy said. He sandblasts names, dates and epitaphs into the granite, and recently inscribed one for a woman about an elevator ride to the top. The epitaph costs $5 a letter, he said, so a simple runs a little over $50 while a my drink, love is more expensive and more of a statement.

Fall is the time for cemetery tours in south Mississippi to recall those made a difference in the community. also a good time to wander through the cemeteries and see others who left an impression.
