Seek Cause of Brtak Market experts explained that the demand represented orders under the market which were touched off when prices declined earlier in the They held that yesterday's and today's declines had resulted in an oversold list. Attempts were made to put a finger on the cause of the previous session's break. Some held that a move to give the federal reserve board power over the nation's credit policies was responsible. Others blamed fears of sub-' stantial increases in corporate taxes to be recommended by President Truman next week.

Very clean. PRICED RIGHT 1947 DODGE 4 DOOR SEDAN Truman and Democrats Josh Newlywed Berkley WASHINGTON -OP)- President Truman got together with democratic congressmen for a little shindig last night, and everybody agreed they had a swell time. They kidded Vice President Alben Barkley about his recent marriage and Speaker Sam Rayburn about this state of single bliss. They predicted democratic victories this year, and moaned that the demise of the Republican party could mean the end of the two- party system. Of couse, it wasn't all fun.

Mr. Truman told the Democrats he intended to push the democratic platform for all it was worth in congress. "I believe a party platform means what it says and I am doing everything I can to carry out that platform," he said. "I'm going to fight for it as long as I live." The southern democrats took this as a pretty sharp hint that the president has no intentions of backing down from his civil rights program, particularly the bill establishing a fair employment practices commission. Hormone From Hogs Helps Leukemia Victims NEW YORK-UPI-A hormone taken from the brain of hogs has arrested leukemia temporarily in five patients at Memorial hospital, it was announced today.

With dramatic swiftness the hormone, known as Acth, halted the fatal ravages of the disease, which was acute in three children and two adults, after a 24-to-30 day treatment, according to a joint announcement made at a special meeting at the New York Academy of Medicine. The doctors who made the report said the recoveries could not as yet be regarded as anything, but "temporary and incomplete." Fluid drive, radio, heater, tires. The state Legion department, at its convention last year, went on record in favor of the housing act. -mdr. Ralph Staven of the Wau- tesha D. J. Martin post said today that such action by individual posts would probably have little Jffect since the state organization had favored the housing act.

Coughed for 29 Years, Finally Locates Cause MILWAUKEE -W- Leo Piskula, 30, Milwaukee, has stopped coughing for the first time in 29 years. Doctors removed a leg of an alarm clock his lung. Piskula's father, Hilary, said the boy had swallowed the piece of metal when he was one year old but the incident had been forgotten.

Year after year young Piskula was bothered by a persistent cough. He was X-rayed several times without finding the answer. He coughed through school, the army and when he Went to work as a bus driver here. Finally an X-ray plate showed a dark object in one lung. Doctors pulled out the clock leg yesterday, and Piskula smilingly took a deep breath.
