Captain Vernon, whose wife lives in Van Nuys, has returned to the United Stales. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ollie E. Vernon, live in Eldon. He served in Korea as a member of the Third Signal Company of the Third Infantry Division. The medal was presented for meritorious service from Nov. 12, 1950 to July 12, 1951.
