Edwards, 25, CoUinsville, had been asked to withdraw because he was in arrears with creditors and had riot filed a financial statjefhent with the secretary of required by statutes. But for Elizabeth, there will be no new life in the West. Authorities sent Elizabeth bacit to Yugoslavia because, Ihey ruled, she is too young lo request political asylum.

Authorities said they could remember no case like it before. The girl was not identified except as Elizabeth, a Polish Citizen who slipped across the border late Wednesday into this city of 43,000 located directly on the border with Yugoslavia. "Border 'police said the girl's stepmother was stopped and arrested by Yugoslav authorities as she tried to cross the border. But Elizabeth made it alone. Her uncle, who police said tied to Switzerland a year ago, met Elizabeth at the border.

Police said he tried to keep the girl witli him by claiming he was her father. Bu! they said his documents proved otherwise. So under an agreement between Italy and Yugoslavia on political refugees, the girl was turned over to Yugoslav officials. There, police reported, Elizabeth rejoined her stepmother bars. Their fate is unknown lo Italian police.
