One day after the diagnosis at a Dade County hospital, which said he would rather not name, Nusbaum said his doctor woke him up and told him if he didn't have surgery within 72 hours he'd be dead.

Nusbaum wanted to leave the hospital to go to another institution. "The doctor said if I left he'd never see me again. I took my chances and left. It would have-been, a mutilating type surgery," Nusbaum said. "Remove my bladder no more children, no more sex." Nusbaum went to Sloane Kettering where he said a doctor proposed monitoring him, agreeing that the operation would have taken away a lot of necessary functions for someone Nusbaum's age.

Nusbaum later wound up having his bladder removed, and appears to be recover-ing with no complications. if if ir Mrs. Feuerberg, 35, the Plantation psychotherapist who practices in Hollywood, trained with Carl and Stephanie Simonton of Dallas, whose teachings included the theory that stress breaks down the immune system. "There's such a connection between cancer and psychology," said the therapist, who counsels individual cancer patients. "I've seen people go into remission because they do well psychologically.

Unfortunately we're a very negative society. I stress the positive." Mrs. Feuerberg is planning to donate use of her office for hotline volunteers. She said another part of her role in the organization will be conducting group counseling at low rates that have not. been determined yet.
