JAV KRAEER BOCA RATON rTNERAL HOME ailed Praat bleraaUsaaJ GENOA, Italy Maria Pertini Tonna, 82, sister of Italian President Sandro Pertini, died yesterday after suffering a stroke, Pertini, 84, cut short a visit to Colombia and canceled an official visit to Portugal in an attempt to get to his sister's bedside before she died. But Tonna died shortly before he returned, a hospital spokesman said. Amintore Fanfani, acting president while Pertini was on his two-week tour of Mexico, Costa Rica and Colombia, radioed the news to Pertini's special plane while it was over the Atlantic. Tonna, who spent the winter months in Genoa, collapsed at midday Friday from a cerebral hemhor- rage as she was leaving her home with a cousin. Professor Luciano Balestri of the San Martino hospital said her condition was complicated by heart weakness.

She was kept alive until yesterday by a life support system. Tonna was born Oct. 3, 1898, in the village of Stella in the hills of northwest Italy. She married Aldo Tonna, a diplomat, in 1926 and they had two children a son who died a few years ago and a daughter, Alda, who was at Tonna's hospital bedside when she died. Also present at the hospital were two granddaughters and President Pertini's wife, Carla, who arrived in Genoa Friday.

The family said a private funeral is tentatively planned for tomorrow.
