'i Three Games Open LOL Caging, Dec. 4 Oconomowoc Is New Entrant in ins-Team Loop Nine teams, one more than last year, will go after the 1954-55 Land o' Lakes basketball championship bunting. League action is scheduled to start Saturday, Dec. 4 with three games on the opening card, Director Doug Donovan reports. Teams trying to displace the defending chamoion Waukesha Amvets will be Watertown, Hartland, Pewaukee, North Lake, Sussex, Schaller's Service also from Waukesha, Whitewater and newcomer Oconomowoc.

The Am- vets and Watertown wound up with identical 10-4 records last March but 'the Waukesha entry won out in the playoffs. Making a strong bid to unseat the Amvets will be Sussex, which will be greatly improved this year. To go along with scoring champ Doug Tetzlaff, who dumped in 324 points in 14 games, Sussex will have brother Jerry Tetzlaff who is just back from service training. Fred Keller. a lanky giant who played with Carroll college in 1951-52, will also be on hand.

Hartland has added prep Coach Al Vandertie and hopes to have scrappy Dick Luko back from service by -January. Whitewater, too, is bolstered by returning veterans. Pete Miller and perhaps Jim Lund will, make North Lake stronger. Oconomowoc plans to go young players which could make things rough for the older and slower outfits. Waukesha's two entries will both be playing on opening night in a twin-bill at St.

Mary's gym. The Amvets take on Whitewater at 7:30 p.m., with Schaller's meeting Hartland at 8:45. Third game of the evening finds' Watertown hosting Oconomowoc. Teams and' their managers are as follows: Hartland, Chuck Wittenberg; a Jack Adams; North Lake, Don Stapleton; Sussex, Bernie Krueger and Roy Evert, Schaller's, Ken Emerson; Amvets, Jug Johnson: Whitewater. Benders Bury Falls, 74-56 WEST BEND Menomonee Falls took its second non- conference loss of the season here Tuesday night, bowing to a rugged West Bend quintet, 74-56. Allan Peters, West Bend center, led scoring with 21 points. The Benders rode to a 23-9 margin at the quarter mark, then left the floor at halftime with a 47-26 advantage. Dick Banse led Falls' scoring with 13 points. Menomonee Falls' B-squad took a preliminary affair, 2822.

Umberto Maglioli of Italy flashes across finish line in Juarez, Mexico, in his Ferrari heavy'sports car to win fifth Pan American Road Race, 1,908 miles from the southern border of Mexico to the northern border. Concordia Defeats Extension by 84-40 MILWAUKEE Concordia college got a first quarter 14-point jump on the University of Wisconsin Extension Center Tuesday night and went on to an 84-40 basketball victory.
