Elliott Mrs. Elliott To Seek 2nd Amphi Term Mrs.

T. M. Elliott, president of the Amphitheater School Board, announced today that she will be a candidate in the Oct. 5 election for a second five- year term on the board. "I have been on the board five-years and I think the people are pretty much aware of my feelings," she said.

"I FEEL I've really worked at it, trying to keep abreast of things happening in education, not only in the Amphitheater district but around the state and elsewhere." Mrs. Elliott, in reference to the problem of financing schools, said she is in favor of economy but not when cutting costs would hurt the educational program. A native Arizonah, Mrs. Elliott attended schools in Jerome and lived in Clarkdale and Phoenix coming to Tucson in 1940. She has lived in the Amphitheater district for 13 years.

She is president of Elliott Electronics the local firm founded by her late husband in 1940. MRS. ELLIOTT was active in school functions before she ran for the board in 1960. She was a charter member, and first president of the Wetmore Elementary School Parent-Teachers group. Among other activities, she is a past president of the Arizona Federation of Garden Clubs, a member.of the Order of Eastern Star, a charter member of the.

Casas Adobes Community Congregational Church and a member of Zonta Club, international service organization. Mrs. Elliott lives on East Linda Vista road. She has one daughter, Linda, a 1965 graduate of Amphitheater High School. Proceeds from the Corral Theatre production of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" will go to the University of Arizona's Pauline Landon Memorial Scholarship Fund, Director Peter Marroney said yesterday.

The play will, be presented at 8:30 p.m. Sept. 14 through 18 at the University of Arizona Theater. Mrs. Landon, wife of former Tucsonian Harold F.

Landon, died of a cerebral hemorrhage in 1963 at the age of 45. She was active in. Corral theatre, Junior League Follies and. Tucson Press Club Gridiron Show productions. After her death, Corral Theatre and the Tucson Press Club helped establish the scholarship fund in her name to assist UA students in the performing arts.
