Stavins is survived by a daughter, Patricia H. Haldorsonand her husband, Lee Haldorson of Joliet, IL; a son, Frederick C. Stavins and his wife, Rosemary Garhart of Champaign, IL; grandchildren, Raymond Haldorson, Lisa Haldorson, Michael Haldorson, all of Joliet and Frederick R.C. Stavins and Robert A.F. Stavins of Champaign; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Dreznes. Mr. Stavins graduated from Hammond High School in Hammond, IN. He attended Indiana University, worked on an oil pipeline in the Hammond area, and then spent 40 years working at LaSalle Steel Company (now Niagara- LaSalle) in Hammond, retiring in 1975. Hewas a longtime member of St.

Gall Catholic Church in Chicago and later of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Boynton Beach, FL, where he and his wife lived in retirement. He volunteered for many charitable events. He enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 states and five continents, golfing, dancing, playing cards and his children and grandchildren. Services will be arranged through Kenny Brothers, 3600 W.
