Rd. 7, MARGATE 971-7776 By Alan Cherry Staff Writer JACARANDA PLAZA 8259 W. SUNRISE PLANTATION Tamarac will host the first Family Mart supermarket and drug store in Broward County. The new store will be patterned after Albertson's, according to Tom Hoye, director of advertising for the store. It will have a bakery, delicatessen, lunch counter, camera shop and liquor store.

The store will feature a large produce section with unpackaged fruits and vegetables, Hoye said. SPECIAL 1 Complete Auto Radiol svc SALE fo ui Drowara 4159 N. State Rd. 7 (441) Lauderdale Lakes (Oakland Shopping Center, Va Mi. So.

Members of executive branch used to be with Albertson's, he said. "We come by the plagiarism honestly," Hoye said.

Hoye emphasized that beyond the idea for the store, is not tied to the operation of the store. The new Family Mart, located on University Drive and McNab Road, has 55.000 square feet of floor space. The projected opening date is mid-August. This store will be the 16th in the Family Mart chain. It began in Greenville, in 1977.

It has spread to Georgia and now Florida. Tamarac was selected as the site for the store because of its growing neighborhoods and easy access, Hoye said. The trend in stores today is to make them one stop, he said. "This idea is super-critical now because of the gas situation." The super stores came as a natural progression of smaller stores adding health and beauty aids, he said. The Broward market calls for more Family Mart stores, according to Hoye, but he wouldn't say where, or how many.
