Seven Millions Annual Report Shows Increase in Income as Wei! as Expenses Arthur K. Atkinson, president of the Wabash Railroad Company, in making his report today to the shareholders of the company showing the results for 1947, announced that there had been expended in improvements the sum of 57.082,000. of which 52,355.000 was spent on the physical properties, and $4,727.000 on rolling stock of the company, which included one 4000 H. P. Diesel road passenger seven lightweight passenger train cars, and sixty 70-ton, capacity covered hopper cars.

The company constructed 415 forty-ton capacity steel box cars and 118 fifty-ton capacity steel hopper cars in its own shops. The net income, of the company, as shown by the annual report, was $7,844,570 for 1947 as compared with $4,127,211 for 1946. While Wabash gross income in 1947 was $94,657,837, an increase of $13,891,163.
