High School Gym Will Be Erected on Denton Street Final action en the location oi the gymnasium to be built for the schools was taken at a Special meeting of the City Commission night, resulting in a decision to locate the building on John B. Denton Street.

Members of the schoo; board and the City Plan Commission had previously acted cn the matter. Two sites for the building were considered. The school board had on the locations, four favor-' ing placing the building on Mounts Avenue and three favoring Denton Street. A poll of the City Plan Commission showed six votes in favor of Denton Street and two in favor of Mounts Avenue. At the opening of the city commission meeting Wednesday night it was decided taht the combined vote of the three organizations would decide the location, a contract havirj; been entered into before the bond issue for the purpose was voted that the money would be spent only as approved by the three bodies.

Commissioners Claud Castleberry. W. C. Collier and Francis Craddock voted for placing the building on Mounts Avenus and Charlei E. Crain voted in favor of trie Denton Streea location, making the total vote nine for Mounts Ave- nlue imd 10 for Denton Street.

It was the first time that an airplane was bridged' into a connection between two distant points. An out-of-town sign painter made a trip to Denton recently. Snow which started falling Wednesday and continued throughout, the night today had spread a white mantle over the Davis Mountains the Alpine district. It was the earliest snow in many years, old timers were quoted. The first killing frost recorded the State this season was reported over a vast area of West Texas and a temperature of 32 decrees resulted in a similar situa- ion in the Jefferson section of East Texas. Around Floydada, in the far ern part of the State, a lighi frost, the first of the season, Tuesday night was followed last night by a much heavier one, proving ruinous to vegetation. Lowest temperature at Floydada was 28 degrees.

Freezkl? temperatures were reported last night as far south as Abilene. In the Dallas section the ipiniinuin temperature was 38 degrees, with light frost reported in spattered places.
