New Officers For Beauceant; Gift Exchange Mrs. R. Clyde Foster was elected worthy president at the regular meeting of the Beauceant, Thursday afternoon in the Masonic Timple. Other officers elected were Mrs. C.

W. Weeks, first vice- president; Mrs. Stanley Mason, second vice president Mrs. Earl Tydings, precept- ress; Mrs. Pearl Stout, recorder; and Mrs.

Engaged Couple Is Honored at Shower STURGEON Miss Karen Finnell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Finnell of Renick, and Ellege, son of the Rev. and Mrs. George Ellege, pastor ol the Sturgeon Baptist Church, were honored with a miscellaneous wedding shower on Friday in the church basement.

The evening began with a turkey Mrs. Sidney Seymour and Mrs. E. D. Barrett were in charge of arrangements.

Following the supper the couple opened their many gifts, which were placed on a white linen covered table and highlighted with a pink umbrella and pink and white streamers. The group of 65 attending enjoyed spending the evening by i and singing Christmas carols. Miss Finnell and Eilege will be married Dec. 31. Mrs.

Faithful Workers Meet at Church The Faithful Workers Clan of the Carpenter Street Baptist Church held its regular business meeting at the church Friday night. Mrs. Russell I and Mrs. Ruby Brenton were hostesses for the evening. The meeting opened with a song, prayer and the reading of Luke 2.
