Haley Have all the young people gone to the dogs? We don't think so here at the First Assembly of God church! . •' . . Our young people are helping to spearhead a movement called, "Speed the Light" which is an annual campaign de- feigned to raise money to provide vehicles for the missionaries in foreign fields. This movement, which began a few years ago, is sponsored by the Assembly of God young people around the world. The money is used to buy jeeps> buses, trucks, motorcycles, automobiles, airplanes and printing presses. These are used by the missionaries to spread the gospel. Within just a few short years, several million dollars hav0 been raised by the Assembly of God young people to >elp carry the light to the lost. Our young people here in Blytheville have been tops in giving in the. Blytheville and Jonesbqro areas. They have raised money through auctions, offerings, rummage sales, dinners, etc. . They have caught a vision of the need to spread the gospel in foreign lands and have accepted the challenge. This has contributed to a rise in the spiritual tide of the young people's services and also to their number. It has spilled over into every department of the church and they have, through their zeal and enthusiasm, challenged the entire church to a greater determination to see the work of Christ go forward. All 50 states participate in the "Speed the Light" campaign and Arkansas has ranked second the last two years in total contributions. The Assemblies of God rank in the top 10 denominations in number of missionaries on foreign fields and rank first in the number of foreign Bible colleges. The young people, of the Assemblies of God are known as the "Christ Ambassadors." The local group in Blytheville has its services on Sunday at 6. Their officers are,: President, Harvey Willard; Vice-president, Betty Cox; Secretary, Pat Willard; Treasurer, Debbie Ladd. The church is located at 7th and Ash. If parents will provide young people with a purpose and a meaning for life and then set an example before them, they will always come through. MISSCO IMPLEMENT CO.
