Born in Taunton, MA, she was educated in Taunton public schools and graduated from TauntonHigh School in 1961. She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1965, where she received a teaching degree. After a brief teaching career she worked at G. Fox Company, in the cosmetics department. She then worked for Hubelin Liqours in the sales distribution department.

More recently she worked inreal estate in the Chicago Area. An Accomplished dancer, she also taught ball room dancing in the Chicago area. She was the daughter of the late Charles M. DeZorett and the lateMinnie, nee Wolf, DeZorett-Kenler. She is survived by a brother, Alton DeZorett of Taunton, MA; and several cousins.

21, 2006. He was born on April6, 1913 in Caterina and Gucchimo agro. Joseph was a Veteran of theU.S. Army serving during World War II. As ayoung man, after his return from Army service, he drove a professional baseball and became interested in politics.

He worked as a Deputy Assessor for Cook County, IL until 1981 when he retired and moved to Arizona. He married Runa Kastman on August 24, 1938 at Bessemer, Michigan. She preceded him in death on January 2, 1990. He graduated from Augustana College in 1935.He was ordained into the ministry at the Augus- tana Lutheran Seminary in 1939. He served parishes in Oil City, PA, Wenona, Streator and Peoria, IL and Bethlehem in Gary, IN. Hislon- gest service was at Irving Park Lutheran Church in Chicago.

He completed his full time ministry in Bessemer, MI. He also served as visitation or interim pastor at Rockford, IL, Tucson, AZ and Dixon, IA. During WWII, he served as a Chaplain in the U.S. Army in Baltimore, MD. He enjoyed carpentry work and both hunting and fishing.

He was an avid reader and stamp collector. One of his greatest joys was a chapel he built in the northwoods, which he opened to all believers for the summer. He served in the United States Navy in World War IIretiring as Chief Aviation Ordnanceman at Glenview Naval Air Station in1974.

CAROL FUCHS Dr. Carol Fuchs Kaufman, 68, lived actively and fully with her husband, family, and friends, and fought ALS fiercely for five years until her passing on February 27, 2006. Born December 12, 1937, in the Bronx to the late Eva and Sam Fuchs, Carol relocated with her family to Kinston, NC where her father shirt business, Hampton Industries, was opened. The family moved to Miami Beach where she attended Miami Beach High School. At Brandeis University on the first day of orientation she met the love of her life Jerry Kaufman of New York City.

They married December 21, 1957. She transferred to Barnard College, where she fenced for the women varsity team andgraduated Magna Cum Laude, with a BA inSociology, 1959. After college, she taught the second grade at The Ramaz School in New YorkCity. They settled in Chicago in the Summer of 1963. Her children attended Hillel Torah Day School where she chaired the Education Committee.

She was a member of the Congregation Or Torah in Skokie and served on its Board. While raising four children and volunteering her time to political, charitable, and educational causes, she earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University, in 1988. She was certifiedto practice in the State of IL and established a thriving private practice in downtown Chicago. An accomplished psychologist, herpatients continued to seek her guidance even during the advanced stages of her illness. Shesuper- vised PhD candidates at Michael Reese Hospital.

She was a frequent visitor of the Las Vegas Desert Inn Hotel where she took the house for a small fortune. She traveled extensively, particularly enjoying her annual trips to Dorado Beach, London and Jerusalem. She was a strong supporter of Israel and women Jewish studies. She was a philanthropist, opera lover, arts lover and collector of all thingsbeautiful. She loved the New York Times, a freshly- brewed cup of coffee, and a fine red wine (not necessarily in that order).

She was wiseand offered a sympathetic ear, which inspiredso many to seek her counsel both personally and professionally.
