In his letter, Mr, Porter declared that the reason the answer had not been siven him definitely from the Sew Yoik office of the company was due to ths fact that T. B. Crumley, the president, had not been at his desk. The letter promised a definite decision by Monday and the council, as a favor to Mr. Porter, allowed him lhat much time before, again taking up court action asrainst the company fn an effort to make It take some forward step in the paving question The school question, from the viewpoint of finances, again came to the attention of the council, and It was decided to hold a special meet ing on Wednesday night, June art, at 7 o'clock in the board of super visors room In (he courthouse, when the school board will be invited to and "facts and figures' in the case win ne presented Jor aiscus- ion and action.

In the meanwhile, the city man ager was Instructed to obtain an audit of the book of the auperin tendent of schols as of July 1 of thin j-ear.
