BREAK GROUND SOON FOR THE NEW WARWICK Ground will be broken eometime next probably next Thursday, for a $300,000 addition'' to the War-wick hotel, according to the Virginia Engineering Company of this city, has the contract for the work. The contract, which was let a short time ago, wan, signed, this week and materials for the new hotel are being etdered.

The Old Dominium Land Company is moving trees and shrubbery on Twenty-fifth street near West avenue and otherwise preparing for the breaking of ground." On the aftei-noon of the second day special meetings of Breed associations and the Crop Improvement Association and other organisations will be held. Special demonstrations will be put on by; the various college departments and visits will be made to places of special interest. On the evening of August 4th, the principal speaker is Congressman J. C. Ketcham, of Hastings, Michigan, who will discuss "Solving the Amer ican Farm Problem." Congressman Ketcham is on the Agricultural Committee of the U.

S. Congress, and has given special study to-the farm problem- A special effort, will be made this year to introduce more music and fun In the program. WOR Plans for the State Farmers' Institute to be held at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute from August 3 to 5 are about complete, it has ben announced by the authorities arranging for the gathering. The first regular meeting of the Institute will be held in the college assembly hall at 7:30 o'clock on the evening of August 3. The morning and afternoon of that day will be given over to the special meeting of the state agricultural advisory council' and the Virginia Home Makers' Association. A member of farmers from this section and county agentg from nearby counties will attend the institute.

The State Agricultural Advisory Council Is made up of. representatives of the leading farm organizations and institutions in the state and has for Its purpose the carrying out of the Five-Year Program for the Agricultural Development of Virginia that was begun three years ago. This year representatives of the State and local chambers of commerce have been invited to take part in the meeting which be devoted to the discussion of ways and means of meeting the agricultural problem in Virginia. This should' prove a most Interesting and helpful meeting. The meeting of the Virginia Home Makers' Association will' be called to order at 10:00 a.

August 3rd, by the President, Mrs. Roy Gordan, of Mecklenburg county, and a very Interesting program will be rendered consisting of reports from county units, demonstrations, etc. At the end of the program a social hour will be held. The Farmers' proper, which begins on the evening of Bust 3, will' have an unusually Interesting program this year. On the first evening the features of the program are presentation of, Certifi-cates of Merit, by the-r president of the Agricultural college and an address by Dr.
