25 9011 6B Sun-Sentinel, Sunday, March 22, 1992 OBITUARIES Janet Driscoll Kenney, Broward teacher since '55 By STEPHEN d'OLIVEIRA Staff Writer A memorial service will be held today for Janet Driscoll Kenney, a longtime Fort Lauderdale teacher and resident. Mrs. Kenney, 61, died Thursday of cancer. Mrs. Kenney started teaching in Broward County in 1955 and had taught the past 26 years at Floranada Elementary School in Fort Lauderdale.

Earlier, she taught at Lauderdale Manors and Stirling Elementary in Hollywood. "She absolutely loved teachbring," said Jo-Ann Hall, a longtime friend. Mrs. Kenney had been on sick leave from Floranada since the first of the year, but was teaching just before the Christmas holiday. "She taught third grade for four years, but her first love was first grade," Hall said.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph John Kenney, of Fort Lauderdale; a daughter, Kellie Jean Bishop, of Fort Lauderdale; a brother, James R. Driscoll, of New Canaan, a grandson, James Joseph Bishop, of Fort Lauderdale; and numerous nieces and nephews. The memorial service will be today at 2 p.m. at the Jordan Fannin Memorial Guardian Chapels, 5110 N.
