Obituaries Former actress dies at age 90 in Copenhagen COPENHAGEN (AP) Asta Nielsen, a Danish actress who was one of Europe's biggest film and stage stars before the Nazi era. died yesterday at the age of 90. Miss Nielsen's dark eyes were known to movie and theatergoers across Europe and beyond from 1910 to 1937. There was an Asta Nielsen fashion craze, she was a pinup sweetheart in the German trenches of World War and theaters and movie houses were named for her. Die Asta.

as her fans called her. did much of her work in Germany. She quit the screen in 1926 and triumphed on the stage in Berlin, Vienna. Budapest and other European capitals. But in 1937 she angered Hitler when she rebuffed his request to return to the screen, and that ended her career in Germany.

Philadelphia bar opposes busing bill PHILADELPHIA (AP) -The Philadelphia Bar Association opposes legislation that would limit the Supreme Court's power to order busing as a means of desegregating schools. President Nixon has endorsed such legislation. "That a president of the United States, and in particular a lawyer-president, should attempt to interfere with our independent judiciary appalled me," Harold Cramer, the bar association's chancellor, said in releasing the resolution. Cramer said the association also was opposed to proposal to amend the U.S. Constitution to prohibit the assignment of public school students to schools on the basis of race.

University gets Pulliain gift BALDWIN CITY, Kan. (UPI) Baker University has announced it will receive "the largest gift from a living donor" in the school's 114-year history. The gift by Eugene C. Pulliam, publisher of newspapers in Arizona and Indiana, will be in the form of stock valued at over the university said. Pulliam publishes The Arizona Republic, the Phoenix Gazette, The Indianapolis Star and News and other newspapers.

He graduated from Baker Academy at Baldwin, in 1906. The stock will serve as a scholarship endowment, the university said. Reserve training Special to the Citizen FT.
