One morning in 1936 several students in the news reporting class at the State University's School of Journalism found themselves moved out of the spectators' seats in Judge George Morrison's district court in New Brunswick, and sworn in Jurors.

That was the beginning of a unique leam-by-doing program which Professor Hubert Ede's reporting classes have been carrying on regularly for the past five years. "The reason I like to have students serve on Juries is that they do such a fine job. I don't know that I've ever had any better, more serious Jurors than the Rutgers kids," Judge Morrison said. "There is an age requirement of 21 years for Jurors in this state." Judge Morrison explained, "but we hit on the practice of getting both attorneys in a case to walvn that 7 4 i 1 iv Royal Purple Proportioned Nylons limitation, and it worked out fine." 10 Replacement of pilots after completion of 100 combat missions against Communist targets has presented a mix-up of events at this advanced Korean air base. Arriving recently to fly with the S5th Fighter-Interceptor Wing was Capt. Oscar R. Fladmark, Sioux Falls, a former flight commander with the 175th fighter squadron of Sioux Falls. He is one of several Air National Guard pilots to arrive at this installation to fly combat missions.

In 1948 Fladmark, during his first night with the 35th, talked with Col. Fred C. Gray, commanding officer of the unit, about old times when Gray headed the South Dakota air national guard in 1946. Fladmark flew with the colonel at that time. Gray started the Air National Guard units in many of the middle northwestern states and acted as wing senior instructor, hasert in Des Moines, la.

Recently. Gray re i ii i activated the 35th fleher-lntprrnt or wing and has participated in all oi tne numerous moves of his unit. Linnaeus, the "Father of Botany" in the middle the 18th century, conceived the idea of classing and naming all plants according to similar flower characteristics.

To all of each class he gave a certain name, called the genus name (the family name) i. e. Ulmus being the genus name for all elms. The genus name is always the first word of the scientific name, and capitalized. Then a descriptive word was found to be necessary, in order to describe a certain plant, as Ulmus Americana, meaning American elm.

The second word is called the species name, also Latin, and refers to some characteristic of that special class or species. These species names may refer to color, habitat, foliage, flower, habit of growth, original home, or name of person who originally introduced to the world this particular special plant. Some species names referlng to color are albus (white), argenteus (silvery), aureous (golden), coccl-neus (scarlet), cuprens (copper), lu-teus (yellow), purpureus (purple), roseus (rosy), ruber (red), sanguineus (blood red), virens (green).
